Cadagua, founded in 1971 and with 40 years experience, is recognized as a pioneering and leading force among Spanish companies in the field of engineering and construction of Water Purification and Treatment Plants.

With a workforce of 440 employees, a project backlog of 509.1 million euros, and turnover of 150 million euros in 2009, Cadagua has become a benchmark in the development of water treatment and desalination. It has designed and built over 200 water treatment plants (drinking, waste and desalination), achieving a total treatment capacity of over 14,500,000 m³/d. Over 17,000,000 inhabitants benefit from the company’s Maintenance and Operating Services.

These figures place Cadagua at the forefront of Spanish companies involved in this industry.

It is also prominent in the international market for Reverse Osmosis Sea Water Desalination Plants. Opening new markets has always been one of the Company’s main challenges, achieving this goal as far back as 1967 when it landed its first international contract. Thanks to its efforts and proven capabilities Cadagua’s current reference list includes countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Algeria, Tunisia, Chile, Venezuela, Portugal, France, the United Kingdom, Poland and India. Moreover, Cadagua has a permanent presence in Poland, Dubai and New Delhi where it has established its own offices.

In the international market, the Company’s policy is to form alliances with local partners, thereby decentralizing activities and making it possible to offer each customer a service specially adapted to the specific conditions and requirements of its particular market, while counting on Ferrovial's support and presence in the five continents.
