Ferrovial Medioambiente y Energía was created by Ferrovial to handle energy activities and waste management. In energy management, Ferrovial Medioambiente y Energía provides solutions for efficient energy use and applies the latest technical innovations for process and horizontal technology.

It also promotes, develops and builds high performance non-utility electricity generation plants, focusing on combined heat and power (cogeneration) for industrial processes, the tertiary sector and waste management.

In waste management, Ferrovial Medioambiente y Energía focuses on the treatment of urban solid waste, as well as specific treatments for industrial, livestock and hospital waste plus soil regeneration and reforestation. It also builds waste treatment plants and provides solutions for waste packaging, gas treatment at incinerators, landfill sealing, and construction and management of recycling points for waste separation at source.
