Southampton Airport is an award-winning regional airport located centrally on the South coast of England. It's renowned for providing an easy, fast and friendly service, where passengers breeze through the facilities with ease. Southampton Airport has been voted by passengers as the 'Most Friendly Airport in Europe' two years running in the ACI (Airports Council International) Awards.
The airport has 12 airline and tour operator partners. Each year Southampton Airport welcomes around 2 million passengers, who are flying to and from 45 destinations around the UK, and mainland Europe, on around 900 weekly flights. The reasons for travel are diverse, such as visiting friends and relatives, package holidays, staying at a second home, and for independent holidays. Most passengers travel for business reasons, representing around 40% of passengers, and increasing numbers of passengers use the airport to join cruise ships sailing from the city's world famous port.
Southampton Airport has excellent transport links, with road access to the M27 and M3 motorways, and a dedicated train station (Southampton Airport Parkway) located 60 seconds walk from the terminal building. 180 trains stop at the station each day, and London Waterloo is just 66 minutes away by train. These transport facilities, make the airport ideal for travel to and from the 2012 Olympics to access London, and the sailing events in Weymouth further along the South coast.
