Birmingham is a prime example. Through a €3bn contract managed by Amey over the next 25 years, the road and urban infrastructure network will be steadily improved through a Private Finance Initiative (PFI). This agreement incorporates the management of 2,500 km of roads, 5,000 km of pavement, 850 bridges, 100,000 street lights, and 5 million m2 of green areas.

Using an innovative whole life asset management approach, Amey has been able to deliver cost savings whilst improving energy efficiency and service delivery.
