(Ferrovial) Environmental Reporting

Content zone

Our global reporting strategy is based on the belief that a sustainable global development could not be carried out if we consider different scopes of the same company without an overall strategy which enshrines policies, actions and processes, with regard to environmental and social development. Ferrovial combines a commitment to responsible sustainable development in the financial area - the more traditional aspects of business - with more recent social and environmental commitments. This strategy is supported by the recommendations of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a globally accepted sustainability reporting model on whose criteria and indicators the content of Ferrovial's Annual Report is based.

The company's strategy, positioning, performance and main events in its four business areas, earnings, the corporate governance report, the strategy and initiatives in the field of corporate social responsibility are detailed in the 2011 Annual Report.

The company's Annual Report is focused on providing useful information to the stakeholders. From 2007 onwards, the Annual Report has only been available in digital format. Ferrovial decided to dispense with the 5,000 printed copies, representing a saving of 7.1 tonnes of paper. This would otherwise require the felling of 106 trees and the use of 3,750 m3 of water. The new format makes it possible to access much more information, including multimedia contents.

Deloitte verifies our Annual Report and thus assure that our data collecting procedures are reliable and reasonable, as well as the fact that published indicators are representative of the result of our activities choosing the most representative indicators in each area of Corporative Responsibility.

The review is conducted in accordance with the materiality criteria in the AA1000AS Standards issued by Accountability, the Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability- ISAE 3000 Assurance Engagements other than Audits on Reviews of Historical Information within the International Framework for Assurance Engagements.
