Ferrovial broadens its activities in Poland with its first maintenance and services contracts Published on 26/10/2012
Ferrovial, through FB Serwis, a joint venture of Ferrovial Services and Budimex, has entered a new market in Poland facility management with a new contract to provide technical maintenance services to the largest hospital in Krakow. Ferrovial recently entered other sectors in Poland, such as road maintenance and waste management.
Ferrovial has entered Poland’s services market by landing a 2-year contract to provide technical maintenance services at the Ludwika Rydygiera Hospital, the largest in Krakow, Poland’s second-biggest city.
The company has been providing road maintenance services in Poland since 2011. FB Serwis was recently awarded a contract to maintain 48 kilometres of the A1 highway, between the Sosnica junction, in southern Poland, and the Czech border. In addition to this 6-year project, the company has others under way in the provinces of Pomerania (northwestern Poland) and Podlaskie (northeast).
The consortium comprising Budimex, Cespa (an environmental services subsidiary of Ferrovial Services) and Keppel Seghers, a Belgian environmental technology company, was awarded a contract in July to design and build a waste-to-energy plant in the city of Bialystok. This is Ferrovial’s first project in the fields of waste management and industrial construction in Poland.

Ferrovial Services is a European leader in environmental services and transport infrastructure management and maintenance. Through companies Amey, Cespa and Ferroser, it occupies a leading position in such markets as integrated municipal services, energy optimisation and waste management. The division obtained 1.456 billion euro in revenues in the first half of 2012.
