In  collaboration  with  its  employees  and  Aldeas  Infantiles,  and  in  the  framework  of  the agreement  running  until  2006  for  children’s  homes  throughout  Spain,  in  2001  Ferrovial performed the following activities: • Provided premises for a new training center in Barcelona. • Refurbished, improved and built homes and centers. • Studied land acquisitions, designs and construction of future homes. • Financed education activities. • Set up voluntary teams to support leisure activities. • Established painting and Christmas card competitions. • Equipped an IT classroom and commenced training courses. • Provided information about internal and external communication tools. Through  Polish  construction  subsidiary  Budimex,  and  in  collaboration  with  International Cooperation,  Ferrovial  supported The  Future  of  Children  voluntary  program  in  Poland  to improve   the   quality   of   life   of   500   children,   collaborate   with   the   children’s   care   and hospitalization staff, and help to rebuild hospitals. The  aforementioned  projects  are  small  since  they  were  executed  simultaneously  with  the design of the Community Action Plan.
