Community involvement The  two  usual  components  of  social  commitments  are  industrial  relations  and  a company’s  community  involvement. They  often  include  activities  of  general  interest, such as the arts, culture and historical heritage conservation. Ferrovial’s community involvement is based on the following principles: • We must give social issues the importance which society attaches to them. • Priority must be given to safety and to the appropriate employment conditions and relations, not just in the company but, progressively, at suppliers. • Social dialog must be developed at a global and local level. • Team  work  must  stimulate  social  and  economic  development  and  access  to employment,  especially  for  those  who  find  it  most  difficult  to  enter  the  job market. • We must commit ourselves to defending and respecting human rights, an area in which companies play an increasingly prominent role due mainly to globalization.
