But how can we do this? Sensorisation, automation and industrialisation of the construction sector provide us with tools to fulfil these aims.<\/p>\n<h2 data-incom=\"H20\">The use of drones for construction<\/h2>\n<p>At <a title=\"Ferrovial Agroman website\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business-lines\/construction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">Ferrovial Agroman<\/a> we have put in place initiatives for automating the construction process by using \u201csmart\u201d machines, thus achieving the benefits of a reduction in the time taken to perform works, and increased safety while doing so. An example is the <a title=\"Eurocontrol website - Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurocontrol.int\/rpas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">use of new RPAS technologies (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems<\/a>), more widely known as drones, which make it easier to take pictures with which to <a title=\"Ferrovial Blog - Drones in construction, A Different way of working\" href=\"\/en?p=14242\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">generate point clouds of the project site<\/a>. This has in turn allowed integration of the ground digital model with <strong>theoretical 3D digital models<\/strong> of the buildings and infrastructures to be constructed, and with it analysis of potential topographical deviations from the project study (Vithas Hospital in Granada, or the Figueruelas-Gallur road in Zaragoza, Spain); analysis and monitoring of earth movements (<a title=\"Ferrovial projects - LBJ Express\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/projects\/lbj-expressway-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">LBJ Xpress<\/a>, Texas, USA; <a title=\"Ferrovial projects - Pacific Highway\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/projects\/pacific-highway-australia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">Pacific Highway, Australia<\/a>); <strong>streamlining the design<\/strong> of environmental protection systems; carrying out studies for optimising the design of railway superstructures (El Garraf in Barcelona, Spain); and numerous other applications which will be possible if legislation keeps pace with technology.<\/p>\n<h3 data-incom=\"H30\">What types of drones does Ferrovial use in construction?<\/h3>\n<p>As for the types of drones used to achieve all the above, in Spain we have since 2014 been using the versatile multirotor <a title=\"News - Ferrovial prueba el ala fija FV1 Topodron con \u00e9xito\" href=\"http:\/\/www.atyges.es\/noticia\/34\/ferrovial-prueba-el-ala-fija-fv1-topodron-con-exito\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">FV8 Topodron, made locally by Atyges<\/a>. In Australia we use the fixed wing MAVincci drone, and in the USA XACTsense\u2019s Max8 multirotor drone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15546\" src=\"https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman.jpg\" alt=\"Drones used in construction at Ferrovial Agroman\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman.jpg 4160w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-768x431.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-800x449.jpg 800w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-1536x863.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-2048x1150.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/static.ferrovial.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/06\/13155229\/drones-used-in-constrution-ferrovial-agroman-1280x720.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 data-incom=\"H31\">Who operates the drones?<\/h3>\n<p>But something more than just technology is required: a vital element is the person operating these drones. <a title=\"News - Ferrovial secures a license to operate drones in Spain\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/news\/ferrovial-services-secures-a-licence-to-operate-drones-in-spain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">Ferrovial has obtained operator licenses<\/a> in three countries: Spain, USA and Australia. In <a title=\"Ferrovial International Presence\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/company\/international-presence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener noreferrer\">other countries where we work<\/a>, such as the UK and Poland, tests are still being carried out to validate the use and benefits of drones in all of our projects. Ferrovial has opted for <strong>training our own pilots<\/strong> for using our own drones, rather than subcontracting the service. Our pilots are <strong>highly qualified<\/strong> staff in <strong>topographic and design systems<\/strong> and so can carry out the required functions under stringent safety conditions and in compliance with the legislation in force in the relevant country.<\/p>\n<h3 data-incom=\"H32\">What advantages to drones bring to a construction project?<\/h3>\n<p>New technologies allow us to foresee problems that may arise during project implementation and so enable us to take more appropriate decisions earlier than would be the case using conventional methods.
