{"id":3561,"date":"2016-11-20T16:41:14","date_gmt":"2016-11-20T15:41:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/blog\/?p=3561"},"modified":"2025-12-12T00:12:54","modified_gmt":"2025-12-11T23:12:54","slug":"doing-the-right-thing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/blog\/en\/2016\/11\/doing-the-right-thing\/","title":{"rendered":"Doing the right thing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week, during an interview with Spanish newspaper <a href=\"http:\/\/www.expansion.com\/\">Expansi\u00f3n,<\/a> I had the opportunity to discuss our company\u2019s latest developments in the field of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en-us\/sustainability\/corporate-social-responsability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Corporate Responsibility<\/a>. You can read the interview in the print edition and also on the economic newspaper\u2019s online platform, <a href=\"http:\/\/quiosco.expansionpro.orbyt.es\/\">Orbyt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During our talk, I had the opportunity to explain our company\u2019s commitment in this field. I believe that <strong>difficult moments that the one that Spain is facing right now will have a very deep impact in how different generations understand society<\/strong>. This should take us back to basics, and basics is simply <strong>doing the right thing and acting responsibly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last few years, <strong>Corporate Responsibility has started to be understood as a way of managing business<\/strong>. It is no longer just about social action or development projects\u2026 it is now also about investors and analysts that take conscious decisions based on good governance, environmental performance, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Governments have not kept out of this process: many public works contracts now include Corporate Responsibility assessments that guarantee that firms will go further when determining their compromises.<\/p>\n<p>Our Corporate Responsibility policy is articulated through five main areas of action that focus on ethics, people, environment, society and stakeholders.
