With a current production capacity of 27 hm3\/year, which can be raised to 70 hm3\/year, this plant has become one of the biggest facilities of its type in the whole world, enabling supply to a part of this autonomous community through the group of municipalities of Canales del Taibilla, as well as for irrigation and urban supply for touristic and residential uses in Campo de Cartagena.
