It is a holistic approach to implementing Health, Safety &amp; Well-being practices throughout our business &#8211; not only at work, but also at home. It empowers employees and promotes leadership at all levels of our organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mental Health and Well-being <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\nunderstand that a happy and healthy workforce is in everyone\u2019s interests. To\nensure we all have access to any services we need to maintain a healthy mental\noutlook, we have implemented a number of measures to give employees the\nresources and support they need across our business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Employee Assistance Programme: <\/strong>We have teamed up with Axa to provide our employees with 24\/7 independent support and advice for all manner of life management issues, from the most practical to clinically qualified counselling and therapeutic help for times of need.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mental Health First Aid Programme: <\/strong>As part of our Mental Health First Aid programme, every 6 months, we train members of our workforce to be able to act as mental health first aiders and ensure that we are all aware and looking out for each other. Our first aiders ensure that we do away with the stigma around mental health and are skilled at spotting and reaching out to those in need, supporting those members of our team who may be experiencing some difficulties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Well-being Day:<\/strong> Our biannual well-being day brings together our employees&#8217; family and friends in a day of exercise, sports competitions and healthy barbecue food.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National Health &amp; Well-being Week:<\/strong> We are founding members of the national campaign which focuses on improving health and well-being in the workplace and raising awareness around related issues. We work hard to ensure we are able to leave behind a worthwhile and meaningful legacy by recruiting local people and collaborate with organisations targeting those societal groups most in need of support everywhere we go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In line with\nour focus on access to employment, employability, school engagement and\ncommunity engagement activities, we deliver on a number of commitments\nthroughout the year including a work experience programme across our projects\nfor local school children or people looking to get back into the work place, a\nSTEM Ambassador network across the business, an employer supported volunteering\nprogramme and robust contribution to important causes for our industry and our\ncommunities such as International Women in Engineering Day and working together\nwith Thames21, Heathrow Special Needs Farm and a network of schools, colleges\nand prisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fairness &amp; Inclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UK needs to significantly increase the number of people with\nengineering skills. We recognise this as a global challenge to businesses\noperating in the UK and understand our responsibility in addressing the looming\nskills gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Inclusive Culture Pledge: Our Commitment to Building an Inclusive Culture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By signing up to EW Group\u2019s Pledge, we will benefit from a year of\ndedicated support on five key aspects of diversity development: Leadership,\nPeople, Brand, Data and Future.
