About the role

As the Procurement Specialist for our Facilities Management, Defence & Justice (FMDJ) and Business Unit you will assist in the identification of material and service requirements across the Business Unit. Utilising the Amey procurement process you will provide support on a range of tasks plus undertake operational duties under the supervision of the Procurement & Category Managers. As time progresses, the Procurement Specialist will be given greater responsibilities and more exposure to operational tasks. “On the job” Training will be given as part of the role plus an expectation of undertaking further academic education such as CIPS.
Working closely with all areas of the business from Account Directors to Operational teams you will develop sourcing plans for the Business Unit from materials to contract negotiations and carry out supplier evaluations in line with category approach and procedure.
We are looking for a charismatic individual with previous procurement experience in similar industry who will be able to utilise their previous track record of Supplier on boarding, Procurement Systems, Procurement analytics and conducting firm, fair and ethical negotiations with suppliers to ensure that the best supplier solutions are in place for our FMDJ Business Unit.

What is the purpose of this role?

As the Procurement Specialist for our FMDJ Unit you will provide support on a range of procurement tasks plus undertake operational duties under the supervision of the Procurement Lead.

What will this role involve?

Provide support in building enquiry documents, developing supporting documents, chasing quotes, organising and administration of documents.
Manage and administer Supplier on boarding process through to completion
Ensuring supplier performance monitoring is carried out by project personnel and feeding scores into the system
Maintaining records of e-Auctions, Supplier Contact lists, Supplier Approvals status records and rate comparison sheets
Supporting the Procurement/Category Managers on ad hoc tasks in support of the overall Framework /other live projects as required inc Preparation and issue of Expressions of Interest, RFQ’s, & ITT requests & quotes.
Apply the Amey Corporate Procurement Process
Evaluate the marketplace and supply base to support the development of category plans for allocated category responsibilities
Carry out supplier evaluations in line with category approach and procedure
Prepare detailed bid / tender documents for supply chain to price
Evaluate tenders and pricing submissions
Support Strategic Work Winning requirements  with bidding team including the preparation of all documentation, tender reports and recommendations
Mobilisation of new contracts providing support to contract teams as necessary to ensure smooth transition.
Achieve and report procurement cost savings
Work with contracts and Transaction Services Master Data team to ensure robust procurement data in SAP to allow accurate reporting
Support the Business Divisions with sound procurement support
Carry out 360 degree supplier reviews

What are we looking for?

Ideally you will be a member of or working towards corporate membership of CIPS
Ability to interpret data and analyse using Excel
Relevant industry experience with an understanding of the Facilities Management market
A thorough understanding of tendering and purchasing process
Knowledge of SAP and or other procurement systems
Procurement expertise in data analytics and Supplier onboarding
A fully committed team worker who is able to communicate and implement procurement policy and process throughout the organisation
An effective communicator and negotiator
