The Project
The project involves the design and construction of civil engineering works across 80km section of the new high speed rail link (HS2 Phase 1 London – Birmingham route).
Our scope includes 15 viaducts, around 7 km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 81 bridges and over 30 million cubic meters of excavation.
After completion of Hs2, 8 of Britain’s largest cities will be connected with faster and more frequent services. The project aims to provide low carbon travelling and reduce road traffic.
 

The role

The role
Ferrovial Construction is looking for Innovation Graduate to assist with, and in some cases be responsible for, day to day activities on a variety of major UK infrastructure projects based in Site Office with the Innovation team deployed in each of those areas.
The Ferrovial 3-year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach with a technology based. The role is based on a work culture of creativity, with the ability to work with the most innovative individuals in the design and technology industries, with clear progression and high earning potential.
Key Accountabilities

Co-ordinate innovation projects & initiatives and collaborate with other members of the project team, client and supply chain.
Support the identification of specific challenges (tactical or strategic) where innovation projects have the potential to deliver benefits to the Project.
Perform administrative tasks to support the Innovation & Business Improvement Function.
Introducing relevant tools, systems and processes for enhancing Innovation and provide training to respective stakeholders.
Introducing new processes and updating existing processes on the EKFB BMS.
Support and attend Innovation Forums; contribute and encourage ideas; review the IT Ideas Management Platform and the suggestions made by Others (via Speak Up etc.), for viability and feasibility.
Update & develop the Innovation Dashboard and report on progress, targets and achievements including commercial aspects.
Develop awareness within the project team through a variety of channels (comms, workshops, training, challenges)
Be a ‘fire starter’ to ignite ideas to challenge the team to innovate.
Drive an Innovation driven culture through cross functional collaboration and a positive mindset.
Leading on innovation projects this could be scoping the needs of the client, creating concepts for products and technologies, prototyping solution and advising on innovations for customers
Visiting prospective clients to write proposals and give presentations on how you can support their innovation requirements
Make recommendations on equipment, facilities and tech to ensure the studio in which you will be based has the necessary tools to facilitate this role

Degree or master’s in engineering (All disciplines considered)
Right to work in the UK & Ireland

Proactive approach to working and learning

Desirable

Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
Engineering experience
