About us:

Ferrovial Construction is internationally recognized for its capacity to design and build civil engineering and construction projects, mainly in large transportation infrastructure. Its track-record to date includes more than 490 km of tunnels, 19,200 km of roads (including 4,000 km of highways), 4,700 km of railroad lines (including 700 km of high-speed railroads) and 27,350 km of road maintenance and repair.

Project Description: 

The Ontario Line South Civil Project is responsible for the design, construction and handover of all tunnels, stations and civil works between Exhibition Station and a portal location within the Don Yard. This includes, without limitation, seven Stations (one at grade and six underground stations), 6 km of Tunnels, a range of civil works and ancillary building works, and successful handover of the constructed South Civil Contract assets to the Sponsors.

Position Description:

The System Integration & System Assurance Manager provides general engineering expertise and be the technical leader responsible for coordinating and overseeing all system interfaces and system integration (both internal and external) of the Ontario Line South project.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and implementation of system engineering processes, including the System Engineering Management Plan, System Integration Management Plan, Requirements Management Plan, Verification and Validation Plan, Interface Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan, and Systems Assurance Plan

  • Is responsible for the deployment of strategies to ensure compliance with reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) and security requirements

  • Ensures compliance with electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC), grounding and bonding (G&B) and stray current requirements through implementation of the necessary management plans and processes.

  • Implements and assists in maintaining change management processes

  • Participates in strategic planning and facilitates action on these plans for solutions being developed

  • Provides technical expertise for system engineering strategies and updates, helps to facilitate and drive process flow, supports and ensures process compliance across all project operations and teams

  • Plans the resources needed in order to complete competing priorities within the provided timeframe

  • Leads and manages a high performance team on a high-pace project.

  • Drives and inspires technical excellence by creating an environment of learning and innovation that attracts and develops the best talent reflective of the diversity of our clients.

  • Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff

  • Identifies operational training materials and procedures utilized to train new members of the integration and interface management team.

  • Manages the development and maintenance of various applications and utilizes various tools to enable effective development, education and direction of the organization on designed recommendations

  • Provides strong leadership by example, leveraging strong organizational, managerial, technical, process, and people management skills that can motivate a team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technical, Education, Science, Management, Business, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or related field.

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in province of work preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience including similar positions in major urban infrastructure projects.

  • Licensed or certified as PMP by the PMI, or similar certification

  • Proficiency in the use of DOORS NG or similar software

  • Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
