Startups
Ferrovial views in start-ups the space and speed which allows it to experiment with disruptive ideas. It therefore collaborates with the most brilliant entrepreneurs, linking them with the organisation to accelerate the innovation process. It is willing to pilot technologies and start-up business models in its infrastructures, in order to test their feasibility in a real-life environment and learn with each interaction. It is currently working with a number of innovation systems in Israel, the east coast of the United States, and Finland.
One of the new initiatives in the search for working with start-ups is the launch of the Ferrovial Open Challenge. The aim of this is to provide a challenge from one of the four business units, with a public call for participation of start-ups in order to select a solution for a pilot project in one of Ferrovial’s infrastructures. This initiative, which has been named BuildUp!, will be launched in the third quarter of 2017 with the aim of consolidating and going a step further in Ferrovial’s links with the start-ups environment, and with the vision of becoming one of the most attractive competitions for the said ecosystem.
The company also participates in different programs and forums, mentoring and providing advice to startups in events such as South Summit, Start-up Olé, MIT STEX, Pasion>ie, IBM SmartCamp, Impact Growth, Slush.
