Amey awarded at the ICE West Midlands Awards Published on 01/08/2018
Amey, the British affiliate of Ferrovial Services, has achieved recognition in the ICE West Midlands Awards 2018. The Staffordshire team received the award in the “Medium Project” category for works connecting the new urban development with Branston Road and the construction of a new bridge over the city’s canal system.
The new project provides gateway access to a new business and residential area consisting of 2500 homes, a business park, a primary school, a secondary school and leisure and other facilities. In the words of Richard Harris, Amey Manager for Staffordshire:
“This is a new milestone for our Highways team. I am very proud that the work carried out in Staffordshire has been recognised. The award is a positive contribution to a new urban planning project that will allow local communities to grow and develop.”
Latest contracts procured by Amey
The British affiliate of Ferrovial Services will renovate the Edinburgh street lighting system via the introduction of state-of-the-art LED technology. The contract will entail the replacement of 54,000 street lamps over a period of 3 years and result in energy savings for the local council of some 55 million € over the next 2 decades. The renovation will also help the city reduce its CO2 consumption, in line with Scottish energy efficiency legislation.
Amey will also carry out maintenance services on more than 13,000 street lamps, 1000 luminous traffic signals and 600 auxiliary electrical elements stationed throughout the town of Inverclyde, in Scotland. The contract illustrates the renewed confidence that the municipal corporation has placed in the British affiliate of Ferrovial Services. In 2014, Amey overhauled the town’s public lighting system using LED technology and has been responsible for maintenance of the system since then.
