María Dionis, Chief HR Officer of Ferrovial, has received the “Hudson-ABC Award for Human Resources management” in the “Companies with over 2,500 employees” category for driving the implementation of Coffee, the internal social network that acts as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among Ferrovial’s professionals. Another six projects reached the finalist phase in the ninth edition of these major awards, all of them based on the idea of how companies can prepare for the change of cycle and the future challenges to transform people and team management.
The digital transformation in HR
According to María Dionis, General Manager of Human Resources at Ferrovial, “the implementation of this collaborative platform has transformed the way our professionals work and this has resulted in more open communication with the contribution of innovative ideas. In short, it has unearthed a collective intelligence capable of transforming the company, so it is better prepared to face future challenges. The level of employee commitment also increases, as they feel part of a whole”.
The Hudson-ABC Awards for Best HR Manager aim to boost the positioning of the Human Resources area as a strategic pillar in companies, recognising best practices in people and team management led by HR managers. This annual award is honorary and the panel is made up entirely of HR executives. Every year, these awards address a different topic and this year’s was “Preparing the company for a new environment”.
María Dionis awarded Hudson ABC Award
María Dionis Trenor joined the company in 2006 as Corporate Development Manager. Her tasks include the implementation and consolidation of the Summa Corporate University, a benchmark project in the transformation and growth of the company. Since her appointment as General Manager of Human Resources nearly one year ago and in her capacity as Human Resources and Communication Manager of the Services division, she has actively supported initiatives such as the internal social network within the company’s digital transformation strategy, achieving an increasingly collaborative organisation.
María holds a degree in Psychology from Universidad Complutense in Madrid and a master’s in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland. Before joining Ferrovial, she held several positions of responsibility in the Human Resources field in companies such as Andersen Consulting, Watson Wyatt, Soluziona and Getronics Iberia.
COFFEE – Ferrovial’s internal social network
The project driven by Ferrovial’s General Manager of HR, Coffee (Collaboration of Ferrovial Employees), gives its name to Ferrovial’s internal social network, which offers a flexible and simple tool for sharing knowledge and experiences. Through the creation of work communities, this responsive internal platform provides a collaborative space for meeting business and employee demand.
