Digital Platform for Port Logistics Services

Digital Port is a digital platform for improving efficiency or optimizing port logistics processes.

  • 28 month project duration
  • 1 year pilot duration
  • €1,801,985 total budget

Digital Port envisions the ports of the future as connected, smart, safe, green ports that are integrated into the city, tackling the design and development of an innovative modular platform in order to provide solutions for optimizing interfaces between seaportcity, which contribute added value for improving efficiency and optimizing logistical processes between the actors involved in the port environment, using innovative technology such as Big Data, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, 3D GIS, Blockchain, Open Data, and the Cloud.

The objective is the design, development, and approval of an integrated system set up as a platform for optimizing port logistics processes, aimed at providing solutions for the needs of the Sea-Port, Port-City, and Port Management interfaces.

The developments are intended to perform pilot tests in real environments, specifically in the Port of Algeciras, with participation from various actors in the port logistics chain (port authorities, shipowners, logistical operators, exporters, insurance companies, etc.).

Ferrovial Services will act as an end user for the project, participating in setting requirements, giving advice during development, and ultimately in the pilot’s execution and approval.

Project Consortium

The Digital Port project consortium is made up of five companies, four of which are Andalusian SMEs with headquarters in the city of Seville. As coordinator: Ingeniería y Soluciones Informáticas S.L. (ISOIN), and participating partners: Emergya Ingenieria S.L. (EMERGYA), Easytosee Agtech S.L. (EC2CE), Secmotic Innovation, S.L. (SECMOTIC), and Ferrovial Services (FERROVIAL).

The Digital Port project is part of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Competitiveness’s FEDER-INNTERCONECTA program, and it has been co-financed by the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI) and the European Union’s Structural Funds.
