    \n Carbon Footprint <\/h1>\n <\/div>\n <\/m-final-content-header>\n\n \n\n\n

    Since 2009, we have measured 100% of greenhouse gas emissions from our activities worldwide in order to manage and reduce our carbon footprint.<\/p>\n \n\n\n

    Ferrovial has had a firm Climate Strategy in place for years, framed within the company\u2019s Strategic Plan and aligned with its Sustainability Strategy and global climate commitments. As part of this approach, the company has developed a decarbonization roadmap that integrates ambitious emission reduction targets and a long-term commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 or earlier, in alignment with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this context, Ferrovial has aligned its climate roadmap with a 1.5\u00baC decarbonization pathway, with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As of 2025, in line with these approved SBTi objectives, the company has achieved a reduction of -45.6%<\/strong> in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in absolute terms compared to 2020 levels. In relation to Scope 3 emissions, Ferrovial has achieved a reduction of -17.5%<\/strong> vs. 2020 (SBTi scope) and -22.1% vs. 2020 (total Scope 3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Emissions Compensated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Ferrovial aims to achieve climate neutrality by prioritizing the reduction of emissions and, for residual emissions that cannot be reduced, applying voluntary offsetting mechanisms based on mitigation projects outside the value chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In line with this approach, the company has defined a structured pathway to progressively integrate compensation mechanisms, increasing the role of nature-based solutions and prioritizing projects located in areas where it operates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ferrovial has received the highest recognition from the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge for its work in calculating, reducing and compensating emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This recognition includes initiatives such as the Compensa project, a nature-based solution focused on forest restoration in degraded or burned areas to enhance carbon absorption, while also generating social value through local employment and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition, Ferrovial manages a diversified portfolio of offset projects, primarily focused on nature-based solutions, including renewable energy projects, sustainable forest management initiatives and reforestation projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Beyond their contribution to climate change mitigation, these compensation measures also generate additional environmental co-benefits, including biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and, where applicable, the protection of water resources, reinforcing the integrated environmental value of these initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The sustainable forest management project involves a forest in the Amazon (Peru), contributing to ecosystem protection, promoting sustainable productive activities among local communities and reducing deforestation that could otherwise occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    One of the reforestation projects is located in Uruguay (Montes del Este), covering more than 4,000 hectares of planted forests on degraded grasslands, contributing to carbon sequestration while enhancing biodiversity and supporting local employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Another reforestation project is located in Spain, in A Fonsagrada (Galicia), focused on restoring degraded areas through the establishment of native tree species that are resilient to pests and diseases, contributing to habitat creation and ecosystem recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
