A new flocculation\nbasin and eight new sand and media filters were combined to process the excess\nincoming water.&nbsp; PLW also constructed a\nmodern 1 MG prestressed concrete Clearwell for another onsite storage capacity;\nLarge backup generators were installed to ensure the plant could continue\nrunning even in the event of a power failure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Improvements to the existing 65 MGD water\ntreatment plant included construction of three electrical distribution\nfacilities. The first consisted of chemical feed facilities, filter building,\nflow split structure, and electrical duct bank. The second distribution\nfacility involved mechanical, process and piping improvements, as well as\nelectrical, instrumentation and control enhancements. Finally, PLW added\nmodifications to existing structures, miscellaneous HVAC, equipment, and local\nsite improvements.&nbsp; This project has\nupgraded many of the critical components of the plant so that it not only\noperates more efficiently but also increases capacity to ensure that success\nfor years to come without the need for upgrades.&nbsp;
