All\u00ed, los m\u00e1s de dos millones y medio de usuarios diarios del metro, pueden perder su mirada unos segundos antes de echar a andar por los corredores infinitos de baldosas negras y blancas que caracterizan las estaciones del ferrocarril metropolitano; el m\u00e1s extenso de Sudam\u00e9rica, con siete l\u00edneas que recorren 140 kil\u00f3metros y conectan y 136 estaciones.<\/p>\n    \n\n\n<p>El techo met\u00e1lico que recubre las escaleras mec\u00e1nicas de las estaciones de la l\u00ednea 3 del metro de Santiago refleja tambi\u00e9n los colores y las luces de una de las l\u00edneas m\u00e1s avanzadas de Latinoam\u00e9rica. Es, de hecho, en una de esas estaciones en las que el techo parece un espejo, en \u00d1u\u00f1oa, donde la l\u00ednea 3 cruza sus caminos con la 6, la l\u00ednea m\u00e1s nueva de la ciudad. Una l\u00ednea cuya construcci\u00f3n supuso tambi\u00e9n uno de los mayores desaf\u00edos de la historia del metro santiaguino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solo para construir los 3.000 metros del tramo 2, ejecutado por Ferrovial, fue necesario extraer 125.000 metros c\u00fabicos de tierra. Y para sostener los t\u00faneles se emplearon 10.500 metros c\u00fabicos de hormig\u00f3n proyectado y 675.000 kg de acero de construcci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, las complejidades geot\u00e9cnicas del terreno hicieron necesaria la revisi\u00f3n constante del proyecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pero hoy, bajo los techos azules y blancos de sus estaciones, de los que cuelgan los reflejos de los viajeros que esperan, los desaf\u00edos pasados quedan en segundo plano.
