All\u00ed van a terminar las m\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de toneladas de tierra excavada en las obras de la ampliaci\u00f3n de la l\u00ednea norte del metro londinense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los t\u00faneles gemelos que unir\u00e1n Kennington Station con las nuevas estaciones en Battersea y Nine Elms ya est\u00e1n excavados. Ese fue el a\u00f1o en el que se abri\u00f3 al p\u00fablico su primer tramo, entre Stockwell y Borough, hoy en d\u00eda el tramo profundo m\u00e1s antiguo de la red todav\u00eda operativo. Se trata tambi\u00e9n de una de las l\u00edneas m\u00e1s utilizadas de la ciudad y la que mantiene una mayor congesti\u00f3n hasta el final del d\u00eda. Acometer una obra de gran magnitud sin alterar el buen funcionamiento de la l\u00ednea no es sencillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de las principales tareas de Ferrovial en esta obra es mantener un servicio provisional fiable y de calidad mientras se ejecuta la ampliaci\u00f3n de la l\u00ednea. Entre otras cosas, se ha trabajado con sistemas de modelado de informaci\u00f3n de construcci\u00f3n (BIM) y nuevos enfoques, como el redise\u00f1ado de las placas de uni\u00f3n en la estaci\u00f3n de Kennington para lograr reducir los tiempos de la obra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y, sobre todo, se le ha buscado una nueva vida al subsuelo de Londres. Hasta la fecha, se han enviado m\u00e1s de 845.000 toneladas de tierra excavada r\u00edo abajo hasta la granja de Ghoshems, donde se han transformado en tierras de cultivo.
