No es para menos. La de Farringdon es una de las pocas estaciones que siguen operativas desde la construcci\u00f3n del primer metro de la capital brit\u00e1nica, el primero del mundo. El hormig\u00f3n antiguo ha tomado una nueva vida como material de relleno, en lugar de acabar sus d\u00edas como residuo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sobre el suelo, el cemento y el acero tambi\u00e9n han ganado protagonismo, dando forma a los impresionantes techos de la estaci\u00f3n. Inclinados&nbsp;20 grados&nbsp;y construidos con&nbsp;425 toneladas de segmentos prefabricados de hormig\u00f3n, se han convertido en el s\u00edmbolo de la nueva Farringon. Formando un patr\u00f3n del diamante, los techos han sido inspirados en la comunidad de minoristas de joyeros,&nbsp;Hatton Gardens, en las cercan\u00edas de la estaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lejos del pasado del Metropolitan Railway, la red de comunicaciones que recorre el subsuelo de Londres no deja de crecer. De hecho, cuando el proyecto Crossrail est\u00e9 plenamente operativo, se incrementar\u00e1 la&nbsp;<strong>capacidad de transporte ferroviario de la ciudad del T\u00e1mesis en un 10%. Entonces, <\/strong>la estaci\u00f3n de Farringdon ser\u00e1 una de las&nbsp;m\u00e1s concurridas&nbsp;del Reino Unido.
