Son elementos tan peque\u00f1os que nos cuesta imaginarlos y, aun as\u00ed, son capaces de liberar tal cantidad de energ\u00eda que hace falta desatar todo el poder de la ingenier\u00eda para controlarlos. Son los \u00e1tomos que hacen posible la energ\u00eda nuclear. En algunos casos, liberan tal cantidad de calor que es necesario usar un inmenso embalse de agua para enfriarlos.   <\/p>\n    \n\n\n<p>Observada desde la distancia, la mayor parte&nbsp;de centrales nucleares del planeta destaca por sus grandes chimeneas coronadas por una nube de vapor blanco. Son las torres de refrigeraci\u00f3n, necesarias para controlar la temperatura del agua, tanto la que se usa en la central como la que se devuelve, limpia, al medio natural. Desde el a\u00f1o 2012, la central nuclear de Almaraz dispone de 20&nbsp;nuevas&nbsp;torres de enfriamiento para a asegurar que el agua que vierte&nbsp;al embalse de Torrej\u00f3n-Tajo no&nbsp;supera&nbsp;los 30 grados.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este sistema de chimeneas no ha sido la \u00fanica actuaci\u00f3n de Ferrovial en la central de Almaraz. La&nbsp;construcci\u00f3n&nbsp;de la losa Fukushima, una losa de hormig\u00f3n capaz de soportar terremotos y proteger la integridad de los sistemas de seguridad, es otra de las obras m\u00e1s ic\u00f3nicas. De hecho, la mayor parte de actuaciones en la central en la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada ha buscado adaptar la instalaci\u00f3n a la nueva normativa derivada del accidente de Fukushima en 2011.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/m-wysiwig>\n\n\n<m-gallery-ballester class='gutenberg' negative='negative'>\n\t\n\t\t\t\t<div slot=\"image\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<picture>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<source el\u00e9ctricas subterr\u00e1neas, ambos con&nbsp;caracter\u00edsticas s\u00edsmicas.&nbsp;Adem\u00e1s, se levantaron nuevas torres met\u00e1licas&nbsp;resistentes a la actividad s\u00edsmica para el&nbsp;sistema de comunicaciones de emergencia, conocido como sistema TETRA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuber\u00edas reforzadas subterr\u00e1neas, sistemas de protecci\u00f3n para la red de vigilancia ambiental, red de aguas pluviales resistente a los terremotos\u2026 Todo el poder de la ingenier\u00eda para confinar el poder todav\u00eda mayor de una part\u00edcula tan peque\u00f1a que durante
