Its track-record to date includes more than 490 km of tunnels, 19,200 km of roads (including 4,000 km of highways), 4,700 km of railroad lines (including 700 km of high-speed railroads) and 27,350 km of road maintenance and repair.

Project Description: 

The Ontario Line South Civil Project is responsible for the design, construction and handover of all tunnels, stations and civil works between Exhibition Station and a portal location within the Don Yard. This includes, without limitation, seven Stations (one at grade and six underground stations), 6 km of Tunnels, a range of civil works and ancillary building works, and successful handover of the constructed South Civil Contract assets to the Sponsors.

Architecture Design Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Architecture Design Manager, architect preferred to handle architecture design on a high profile international transportation project from the initial conceptual development through to the final stages of construction. The project is located in Toronto.

To be successful in this position you should be able to be a natural leader to take the most out of the Architecture Designers, provide technical support and effective guidance. An outstanding Architecture Design Manager will have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate superior technical design skills and be able to ensure designs that are functional, creative, sustainable, compliant with applicable/local codes and regulations, and adjusted to timelines and budget.

Job Responsibilities:

• Managing architecture design projects from concept development through to completion. Lead and ensure that Architecture meets the established goals and approaches in the assigned projects.

• Ensuring coordination with other disciplines involved in the design.

• Meeting with clients and determining their needs and requirements.

• Developing and presenting project proposals.

• Adjusting designs and plans to meet the client's needs and regulations.

• Preparing drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.

• Complying with safety standards and local planning regulations. Ensure that all design information is compliant with the requirements of the contract, the company methodology and all applicable Standards.

• Determining and adhering to budgets and timelines.

• Lead and promote value engineering proposals or other type of optimizations.

• Quality assurance of the deliverables production in the project. Scope of works definition for the architecture and engineering consultants regarding the architecture deliverables production.

• Collaborating with other construction professionals. Coordinate the process of collaborative production inside the Ferrovial team and between the different architecture and engineering consultants.

• Support and development in Architecture Discipline along the whole Design and Construction Phase.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in architecture or a related field.

• Previous experience as an Architect preferred.

• Previous experience leading and/or managing teams.

• Strong communication and project management skills.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc.

• Good interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards.
