Job Description:

IT Observability office is responsible for developing advanced monitoring and operations practices with a business centric vision and strong automation focus that will lead to a better quality of the services delivered by IT enhancing the IT Operations efficiency.

We are looking for an engineer who will play a key role in developing the company Observability practice (platform and processes). The position is responsible of developing the vision and execution of the observability roadmap (policies, tools and resources). An IT Observability specialist is expected to have great knowledge of information technology and IT service management. Excellent communication skills and very good business understanding will make a difference in the service provided by IT.

Main responsabilities:

• Define Observability platform strategy and roadmap working closely with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams.
• Develop, implement and integrate policies, procedures, tools and resources to support the observability framework.
• Manage technical team in charge of platform implementation and operation.
• Gather new requirements from DevSecOps teams and market best practices to enhance the framework.
• Enforce standards for timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems to the rest of the organization.
• Work with support teams on application scalability, logging, monitoring, intelligent alerting, and self-healing.
• Work with product owners to ensure all technical products and services follow observability standards and policies.
• Follow operations including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with product teams and infrastructure teams, to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate outages.
• Collaborate in Ferrovial IT operations transformation with special focus on observability and automation.

Skills:

• University degree: Higher Engineering (Computer Science, Telecommunications or similar), Science, Technology or Mathematics.
• Experience working and implementing observability/monitoring applications (Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk, Azure Monitor, Servicenow, APP Insights, Iometrics, Prometheus, AppDynamics, Azure App Insights, Datadog, etc…). Monitoring full-stack cloud, hybrid, and traditional on-premise systems.
• Prior experience in working with log aggregation, metrics, distributed tracing, Azure/AWS, synthetics monitoring and real user monitoring.
• Knowledge of configuration management in cloud environments.
• Comprehensive approach to IT service management, including wide perception of changes, developments, upgrades, infrastructure, and application configurations. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Soft skills: Leadership, communication, collaboration, influencing and organizational skills.
• Essential: high level of English and Spanish.
