Job Description:
Position Summary
This position will make a significant contribution to the projects served by collaborating with project personnel on multiple infrastructure and maintenance projects across the US and Canada.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in project Purchasing Meetings to prioritize responsibilities for project-specific purchases, leverage vendors/subcontractors across multiple projects, and follow the procurement process for execution of key contracts.
- Develop and maintain vendor data for ongoing project contracts
- Prepare contracts, purchase orders, consultant agreements & amendments.
- Perform analysis and evaluation of vendor quotations, drafting of the vendor contracts, coordination of agreements from internal approvals through execution.
- Perform quote comparisons based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the vendor's reputation and history.
- Tracking and reporting of all project purchases.
- Develop, strengthen, and maintain strategic relationships with key Suppliers and Subcontractors.
- Training of purchasing procedures and policy.
- Provide guidance and assistance to project teams and estimators.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- The ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals
- Ability to understand price points and be able to negotiate effectively
- Impeccable problem-solving skills
Education and Experience
- 1-2 years industry experience in purchasing infrastructure maintenance or construction projects
- High level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Experience with Florida DOT is a plus
- Experience with infrastructure maintenance contracts is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and with external vendors/suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience planning, purchasing, and negotiating.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- The person in this will operate in a stationary position for significant portions of the day.
- The person in this position will occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- 50% travel expectations
