2019 will be an exciting year for our Utilities Business Division, where we will continue to strengthen our position in the Water and Power markets and developing our telecoms proposition. The Business Unit has grown considerably in recent years and has ambitious growth plans for the coming years.
Our Power Division work with electricity Distribution Network Operators, helping to power the UK and Ireland. This involves building substations, renewing overhead lines and cutting back the trees so they don’t get too close to overhead lines. The work we do in the telecommunications sector helps to keep communities better connected. We excavate and lay fibre cables ensuring homes and businesses have access to ultrafast broadband with speeds up to 1000mbs
What will this role involve?
We are recruiting for a brand new position as a Finance Business Partner, to support our Power team. In this critical role, you will be performing as a true business partner, working closely with the leadership population, providing the insight to drive performance and leadership in cash management; assessing the viability of bids and shaping the solution; owning the target setting, budgeting and forecasting process, whilst also driving forward process improvement and efficiencies.
Reporting to the head of finance, you will need to show a passion for business and a relentless desire to improve performance and make a positive impact. You will need to be comfortable dealing with senior directors in the organisation and to collaborate and influence across functional boundaries.
What are we looking for?
Qualified (ACCA/CIMA) with significant post qualification experience
Extensive experience of business forecasting and modelling
Operates at leadership level with regular exposure to commercial directors
Effective leadership skills
Highly developed communication skills
Experience of working within a Commercial environment. Working within an infrastructure environment, specifically Utilities, Rail, Construction would be desirable but not essential.
Adept at presenting complex concepts in a simple way
Strong knowledge / advanced skills for Microsoft Excel
Experience and knowledge of SAP (preferred) or similar ERP
Able to travel extensively within the UK.
