The role

IT Manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of company computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. To supervise the implementation and maintenance of company’s computing needs. To oversee installation, maintenance, upgrading and security all information technology aspects, administrative responsibilities such as making decisions about purchase of new IT infrastructure and staff, consultation services and training. Responsible for setting IT Strategy and IT Policy suitable to company needs.

Key accountabilities

 Manage information technology and computer systems
 Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
 Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
 Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
 Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
 Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
 Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
 Audit systems and assess their outcomes
 Preserve assets, information security and control structures
 Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
 Keeping up to date with the latest technologies.
 Ensuring that users adhere to software licensing laws;
 Providing secure access to the network for remote users;
 Securing data from internal and external attack;
 Offering users appropriate support and advice;
 Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems;

Management & Leadership • Manages junior employee(s) in the IT department of the organization.
• Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, anticipating requirements.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality • Follow the rules and regulations from the client and from FMM’s HSEQ Management System, which includes attending all training sessions you are invited to and by reading the documents provided to you.
• Escalate to their line manager any lack of proper equipment or tools for doing the work.
• Report any accident, incident, near miss or health event at work to your line manager.

Skills & experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application or Information Technology

Previous Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience required
 Have experience in programming and computer repair
 Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
 Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
 Expertise in data centre management and data governance
 Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
 Ability to manage personnel
