M\u00e1s de 5534 estudiantes se han beneficiado de la subvenci\u00f3n Middle School Matters Makerspace de LBJ para tecnolog\u00edas STEM desde su lanzamiento en 2016.  Hasta la fecha, se han invertido m\u00e1s de 113.000 d\u00f3lares en tecnolog\u00edas STEM. <\/p>\n    \n\n\n<p>Se crearon MakerSpaces para que todos los estudiantes de sexto, s\u00e9ptimo y octavo pudieran tener acceso a la tecnolog\u00eda como m\u00ednimo dos veces al a\u00f1o. Tambi\u00e9n permite a los estudiantes crear, resolver problemas, descubrir y ser innovadores en un entorno seguro.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>El objetivo es que los estudiantes que est\u00e9n interesados en las \u00e1reas de ciencia, tecnolog\u00eda, ingenier\u00eda y matem\u00e1ticas<\/strong> (STEM, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) puedan tener un lugar para aprender m\u00e1s a fondo y tener profesores que puedan avanzar un poco m\u00e1s con los estudiantes y sin presiones de tiempo. Middle School Matters ofrece la posibilidad de poder llegar a todos los estudiantes de secundaria. Actualmente, la poblaci\u00f3n estudiantil de las 6 escuelas secundarias es de poco m\u00e1s de 5400 estudiantes. A\u00f1o a a\u00f1o, CFB ha ido mejorando el alcance y la implementaci\u00f3n de la subvenci\u00f3n Makerspace de LBJ para ofrecer una experiencia m\u00e1s s\u00f3lida con proyectos de ingenier\u00eda, incluido un evento Makerspace Instant Challenge que permite a los equipos del campus competir utilizando las habilidades de dise\u00f1o y resoluci\u00f3n de problemas aprendidas.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante los \u00faltimos tres a\u00f1os, LBJIG tambi\u00e9n se ha asociado con el campamento de verano STEM, Destination Discovery, de la fundaci\u00f3n educativa. Todos los a\u00f1os, m\u00e1s de 25 voluntarios de LBJIG se hacen cargo del campamento durante todo el d\u00eda. Plantean un reto a m\u00e1s de 180 escuelas de educaci\u00f3n secundaria relacionado con una actividad STEM usando materiales K&#8217;NEX (gr\u00faa, torre, puente de LBJ). Los estudiantes aprenden acerca de los tres proyectos de infraestructura en D-FW y se convierten en ingenieros civiles por un d\u00eda. Los voluntarios de LBJIG dividen a los estudiantes en diferentes equipos con el fin de proporcionarles una tutor\u00eda personalizada. Los estudiantes tienen 90 minutos para completar la tarea y se valora en funci\u00f3n de lo bien que cumpla con los criterios asignados.
