    We continue to make progress with our Supply Chain in applying sustainability criteria by incorporating tools, developing procedures and fostering innovation to make our purchases more sustainable. We require our collaborators to comply with the Supplier Code of Ethics<\/strong><\/a> to ensure that our supply chain meets our environmental commitments and aligns with our corporate policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this context, Ferrovial integrates circular economy principles into procurement processes, progressively incorporating sustainability criteria in purchasing decisions and promoting the use of recycled and lower-impact materials across its construction activities. The Green Purchasing Catalog is continuously updated to facilitate the identification and procurement of sustainable products and solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In construction projects, alternatives for sustainable and recycled materials are identified and made available to clients during both the contracting and execution phases, supporting their incorporation where technically and economically feasible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Recycled Building Materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Ferrovial monitors the use of recycled and reused materials across its main construction inputs, tracking both absolute volumes and percentages to support performance assessment and benchmarking across projects and geographies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The use of recycled materials varies depending on technical requirements, safety standards and project specifications. The table below shows the total consumption of key construction materials and the share from recycled and\/or reused sources:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Steel shows the highest level of recycled content, as it is commonly produced from scrap materials in Ferrovial\u2019s main markets. In contrast, materials such as concrete or cement have lower recycled content due to technical and regulatory constraints, particularly in structural applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nevertheless, Ferrovial promotes the use of recycled materials whenever feasible. For example, in road rehabilitation projects, asphalt from existing pavements is milled, recycled and reintroduced into the production cycle. The company is also developing innovative solutions such as modified bitumen using recycled polyethylene to overcome technical constraints and expand the use of recycled inputs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Similarly, the use of recycled concrete is encouraged in non-structural applications and in projects where the company has operational control and client specifications allow its incorporation. In parallel, Ferrovial develops initiatives such as the Low Carbon Concrete Project, aimed at identifying and scaling innovative solutions to improve the sustainability of construction materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Aggregates represent one of the main opportunities to increase circularity, with a significant share already sourced from recycled materials, reflecting ongoing efforts to incorporate secondary raw materials into construction processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Circular economy approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Ferrovial\u2019s approach to sustainable materials is framed within its Circular Economy Plan and its Quality and Environment Policy, which promote the efficient use of natural resources and the application of the waste hierarchy: prevention, reuse and recycling, other recovery options and disposal as a last resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To support these objectives, a range of actions are implemented depending on project characteristics, contributing to reducing waste generation and associated emissions, for example by minimizing the extraction of virgin materials and reducing transport needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition, Ferrovial actively engages with its supply chain to improve the availability and performance of sustainable materials. The company conducted a survey covering 84% of the turnover of key material suppliers to gather information on carbon footprint, recycled content and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
