The European Commission created the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) in 2007 to drive European competitiveness and leadership on innovation in the face of competition, mainly from the United States, Canada and Japan. The EIT is the first European initiative to bring together all three elements of the knowledge triangle: education, business and innovation, thus driving the capacity for transforming ideas and knowledge through an open model of business opportunities in the form of new products and services for the market. In order to achieve these objectives, the EIT is made up by Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC).

  • Digital KIC, Digital Knowledge Community We are a core partner of the Digital KIC, a leading European open innovation organization whose mission is to promote innovation in digital technology and entrepreneurial talent for economic growth and quality of life in Europe. EIT Digital invests in strategic areas to accelerate uptake of digital technologies based on research and attract entrepreneurial talent and leadership to Europe. The Digital KIC brings together more than 130 partners, including large corporations, SMEs, start-ups, universities and research institutes.
  • Climate KIC, Climate Change Knowledge Community We are an active member of the Climate KIC  after previously submitting  the relevant documentation to be admitted as a core-partner. The mission of the Climate-KIC is to bring together and empower a dynamic community through innovation, entrepreneurship and training to help build a carbon-free economy to combat climate change. Climate-KIC structures the fight against climate change into four areas: increasing sustainability in urban settings, sustainable production systems, sustainable land use management, and decision metrics and finance. By joining this initiative,  we seek to contribute to a better future by developing and operating sustainable infrastructures and cities.
