Scope of Work and Project Summary

This extensive project includes new flyover ramps, collector-distributor (CD) lanes, and other facilities to aid east-west travel along I-285 and north-south travel along SR 400. Bridge reconstructions to help expand surface streets to include additional lanes and expand sidewalk capacities.

The Transform 285/400 improvement project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance safety near the I-285/SR 400 interchange in metro Atlanta.

Unique Project Aspects

Extended miles of collector-distributor lanes along I-285 (approx. 4.3 miles) and SR 400 (approx. 6.2 miles); new intersection redesign of Abernathy Road to a Divergent Diamond Interchange (DDI); and partnership with PATH 400 to create a mile stretch of shared-use path along SR 400 and I-285 to help connect to the expansive PATH 400 system.
