(Ferrovial) Certification 14001

In 2011, the average percentage of environment-certified activity in the construction, infrastructures and services businesses was 80%; if airports are also included, the fi gure was 70%, slightly higher than in the previous year.

On most occasions these systems are certifi ed according to ISO 9001:2008 and 14001:2004 stand-ards and by the main accredited certification companies, including AENOR (Spanish Association for Standardization and Certifi cation), SGS, BVQi (Bureau Veritas Quality International), BSI Group and ERM CVS.

Construction area

Volume of certified business according to ISO 14001 standard reaches 75% of total revenues in Construction Area.

Services area

Volume of certified business according to ISO 14001 standard reaches 94% of total revenues.

Infrastructures area

100% of total revenues are under environmental management control and internally audited, and by the end of 2011, 45% of total revenues were certified under ISO 14001.  

Airports area (BAA)

Volume of certified business according to ISO 14001 standard reaches 20% of total revenues.

BAA verifies and audits its system in a number of different ways, including:

  • A regular audit of its performance by an internal audit team.
  • BAA’s external corporate responsibility assurance provider and Environmental Resources Man-agement (ERM) reviews its approach each year.
  • External input from the Forum for the Future, a sustainable development charity, which provides feedback on our reporting.
