Project Details
66 OTB is a major public-private partnership (P3) that transformed 22.5 miles of I-66 in Northern Virginia into a multimodal corridor to improve mobility, safety, and travel options.
The project spans from I-495/Capital Beltway to Route 29 in Gainesville, executed under a 50-year DBFOM agreement between VDOT and I-66 Express Mobility Partners (Cintra, Meridiam, APG).
With a $3.7 billion investment, including a $579 million concession fee, it funded 16 additional infrastructure projects at no cost to taxpayers.
Completed ahead of schedule in Fall 2022, it delivers long-term economic, operational, and social benefits, focusing on moving more people—not just more cars.
