- Perform drainage designs and plan production of complex highways
- Performs design checks by consultants and subconsultants to Ferrovial
- Contributes to develop design optimizations
- Perform studies on applicable specifications for performing the specified work in the plans.

Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering obtained from an accredited U.S. college or university, preferably one of the premier civil engineering programs in the U.S.
- 0-2 years of experience in the design of water resources, roadway drainage projects

- Must obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
- Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, Geopak drainage and/or Stormcad, and other applicable software common to the field of hydrology and hydraulics engineering, like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY8, etc.

The Roadway Engineer in Training will work on a range of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design&Build Projects across the United States for both the bidding and the construction phase. The candidate will be trained in a wide variety of civil-design–related tasks and work as a team member with other professional peers who will supervise his work and provide mentoring.
The candidate will have the opportunity to learn the company standards for roadway design and to develop expertise in the use of roadway design software and processes. Under the supervision and mentoring of Ferrovial Construction US’s Design Department, the EIT will have the technical support and the resources needed to advance in the professional career within a collaborative environment.

Job Description
As a Structural EIT, you will work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design & Build Projects across the US, either the bidding phase or the construction phase. You will have the opportunity to learn and improve the company standards for structural and bridge design. You will become part of a team that supports all parts of the structural design process by proposing innovative solutions, performing and reviewing structural calculations. You will collaborate with other Ferrovial departments, being exposed to construction Means & Methods and Estimating which will enhance your expertise in construction-focused structural design.
Success in this position means effectively contributing to the design and execution of infrastructure projects by ensuring structural integrity and compliance with industry standards. It also involves continuous learning and improvement of company standards for structural and bridge design.
This role is integral to Ferrovial’s mission of delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. Under the supervision and mentoring of the Ferrovial Construction US Engineering Services department, you will have the technical support and resources needed to advance your career. - Familiarity with AASHTO and/or other North American Standards (CSA S6, ACI, etc) desirable.
