Job Description:

The Innovation Project Manager leads and supports projects that further the company’s internal and external innovation initiatives. These initiatives include understanding emerging trends in transportation technology, travel behavior, pricing, and sustainability, as well as delivering the next generation of smart and connected road transportation. Cintra’s Innovation Team plays a key role within this global company in identifying, developing, and delivering disruptive innovations to drive business value and bring the next generation of transportation to life. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in smart mobility or technology innovation, will thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and are able to effectively communicate complex ideas in a wide variety of settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset and deep technical knowledge, identify, develop, and deliver projects that drive business value, and support the future of safe and efficient mobility.

  • Lead and/or support mobility innovation initiatives working with the wider Innovation team and other departments and partners as needed.

  • Monitor and assess trends in technology and mobility relevant to Cintra.

  • Guide studies and experiments conducted internally or by consultants and researchers.

  • Support the development of business plans and financial models for innovative business lines, leveraging Excel and other tools as needed.

  • Assist in the preparation of bids to ensure the innovation perspective is applied.

  • Participate in conferences, industry tradeshows, and other events to promote Cintra innovation initiatives and to network with potential clients and technology providers.  

  • Draft scopes of work and proposals, and in general coordinate procurement of 3rd party services in coordination with the Cintra legal department.

  • Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations of innovation projects.

  • Manage project budgets and coordinate workstreams for the successful implementation of innovation initiatives. 

  • Coordinate internal and external communications and messaging related to innovation projects.

  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in Engineering or related field

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management with a focus on innovation, mobility, and/or infrastructure technology delivery

  • Knowledge in one or more specific areas such as advanced sensor technology, travel behavior research, civil infrastructure, roadway pricing, etc.

  • Innovation and entrepreneurial mentality – with a pragmatic approach

  • Extensive experience crafting and delivering presentations in a variety of contexts including conferences.

  • Extensive experience conducting high-quality technical/business analyses and evaluating technical studies.

  • Extensive experience with contract management, including directing the work of consultants, vendors, and research partners.  

  • Experience working with different types of organizations, including enterprise scale organizations, start-ups and JV structures, ability to establishing alliances and partnerships 

  • Additional experience of business development and/or bidding processes desirable.

  • Experience conducting academic research is a plus.

Professional Qualities:

  • Experience working with C-level management both internally and externally

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a track record of effectively presenting at internal events, conferences, and trade shows.

  • Keen interest in transport infrastructure, mobility services and relevant enabling technologies

  • Strong leadership skills and proven track record of collaborative working across teams

  • Strong track record of technical/innovation project development & delivery

  • Track record of identification and analysis of business opportunities

  • Familiarity with financial models, business plan development and financial management
