The position of Architect will be responsible for creating, analyzing, and reporting on architectural drawings to ensure conformance with the clients’ standards and requirements.

Job Duties:

· Create and review architectural plans for building code compliance, coordinate architectural plan changes, and respond to plan discrepancies and/or questions

· Collaborate with technical teams to understand key project issues and integrate into relevant technical meetings

· Understand and track all architectural reporting requirements

· Identify trends and critical information for the project, and make connections between reports and architectural activity

· Provide advice and assessment about architectural issues and options to achieve cost effective designs

· Synthesize various inputs and types of information into easily digestible deliverables

· Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams as well as external stakeholders

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university

· Master’s Degree considered a plus

· Minimum 6 years’ experience in architecture within the construction industry

· Experience in delivery of design-build and/or P3 projects in both the pre- and post-award phases required

· Experience working on projects valued at $1 billion+

· Experience working on airport projects considered a plus

· Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of architectural principles

The role

The Design engineer will report directly to the Design Manager and will work closely with the Project Manager, and liaise with the Client, Design Consultants and relevant stakeholders in all matters related to Design and Engineering. You will ensure design is delivered on time and on budget, and comply with the required Quality, Health, Safety and Wellbeing and Sustainability standards and requirements. You will also manage the design Contract, including design changes, risk and opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to use new technologies, tools and software in the construction industry to bring innovation to the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Tendering design packages from project briefs received by the Client – understand scope and negotiate offers upstream and downstream.
• Agree Design Responsibility Matrix with all parties with design input in the project to ensure no gaps or overlaps.
• Co-ordinate the design team activities to ensure that the project design is completed on budget in line with the cost plan and on time in line with the agreed construction programme.
• Monitor and track progress of the design, manage any slippages and be the interface with the management team.
• Actively define and manage design interfaces.
• Lead the review of the design with the interested parties.
• Promote, explore, and materialise value engineering opportunities throughout the design process.
• Work with the procurement team to ensure compliance with financial parameters and assist in defining scopes for subcontracting the different works packages.
• Be responsible for ensuring the design complies with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Work with the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental teams to support audits to consultants.
• Liaise with client representatives on the design development as required.
• Review and agree Consultants monthly Applications for payment.
• Assist the Design Manager on the management of the design team, giving advice on appropriate resourcing levels, effective performance management, employee development and motivation.

Supervisar y coordinar la gestión técnica del proyecto desde la etapa de ingeniería hasta la ejecución en terreno. • Verificar la integridad técnica de los planos, memorias de cálculo, detalles constructivos y especificaciones. Coordinar la resolución de interferencias o inconsistencias entre disciplinas y emitir observaciones. Apoyar técnicamente en la interpretación de ingeniería en terreno.
• Revisar, consolidar y controlar la documentación técnica del proyecto, tales como planos, memorias de cálculo, procedimientos constructivos y especificaciones.
• Verificar su coherencia técnica y factibilidad constructiva. Coordinar la recepción y cierre técnico de entregables de ingeniería.
• Controlar el cumplimiento técnico de materiales y equipos a suministrar. Revisar catálogos, fichas técnicas y certificaciones. Coordinar con adquisiciones y logística para asegurar que lo adquirido cumpla con los requerimientos del proyecto antes de su uso o montaje.
• Planificar y coordinar pruebas FAT en fábrica y SAT en terreno. Verificar el cumplimiento técnico de los protocolos de prueba definidos en las especificaciones. Consolidar evidencias técnicas e informes para validación con el cliente.
• Apoyar la elaboración y revisión de procedimientos constructivos, fichas técnicas y protocolos asociados a la ejecución del proyecto. Coordinar con especialistas, proyectistas o fabricantes cuando se requieran aclaraciones o validaciones técnicas.
• Elaboración de informes mensuales técnicos, hitos, entregables pendientes y no conformidades técnicas.
• Brindar soporte técnico a los jefes de terreno, supervisores e inspectores durante la ejecución. Resolver consultas técnicas (RFI), proponer soluciones ante interferencias o desalineaciones con la ingeniería.
• Coordinar, documentar y controlar las modificaciones técnicas del proyecto, ya sea por errores, mejoras o solicitudes del cliente. Verificar la trazabilidad de cada cambio desde su solicitud hasta su implementación.
• Revisar bases técnicas contractuales, especificaciones y alcances. Apoyar la preparación de documentación para estados de pago, anexos técnicos, cartas formales y cierres técnicos de contratos.
• Consolidar y controlar indicadores de obra como dotación de personal (RRHH), maquinaria en uso, horas hombre (HH) ejecutadas y desviaciones respecto a la planificación. Elaborar reportes técnicos semanales y mensuales que reflejen el rendimiento del proyecto y alertas tempranas.

• El Modelador BIM es responsable de la creación, gestión y mantenimiento de modelos digitales en entornos de modelado de información de construcción (BIM). Su función principal es desarrollar modelos tridimensionales precisos y detallados, asegurando la coherencia con los estándares técnicos, normativas nacionales e internacionales y requerimientos del proyecto. Su labor es clave para optimizar procesos de diseño, planificación y ejecución de obras dentro de Ferrovial Construcción Chile, garantizando la interoperabilidad y coordinación entre disciplinas.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the acoustic design development and control of noise and vibration throughout the design and construction technical life cycles, working with the Employer, Designers’ Noise and Vibration team, suppliers, and other contractors delivering other parts of the track system and stakeholders.
• Responsible for the N&V design aspects for a high-speed track contract. The track systems N&V scope includes the selection of a track system to mitigate the ground-borne N&V as far as reasonably practicable, comply with the client’s environmental minimum requirements, taking all reasonable steps to ensure that environmental impacts are no worse than those stated in the Environmental Statement and achieve  the above by demonstrating that the insertion gain (IG) is equal or better than the criteria set out in the client’s specifications for each area.
• Close coordination with other design disciplines and components of the track and rail systems components design, and liaison with the Designer to ensure the delivery on time, optimized and in accordance with the Client’s requirements is essential. This will also require working close with stakeholders and other contractors delivering other parts of the track system.
• The candidate will be responsible for leading the N&V design aspects relevant to the works.
• Attend the weekly meetings with the construction team and broader design team and client in Birmingham and/or London. 
• Attending / chairing meetings for N&V issues during design and construction and provide technical support for their mitigation.
• Support the Client with identifying change, risk and opportunities and constantly striving for efficiencies and cost savings.
• Aid in the study of optimization and liaison with the commercial, planning, design delivery teams, and designers.
• Support the link and coordination with construction teams for management of N&V related issues, especially providing advise and leading the selection of track elements that comply with the N&V requirements set in the contract.
• Provide technical input and support to relevant commercial communications (SNCs, NCRs, CEs, Departures, etc.).
• Close out N&V issues within area of responsibility in timely manner.

Key skills and experience

• Corporate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (or equivalent competent body)
• Degree-level qualification in an acoustics-related discipline, or an appropriate postgraduate qualification, or relevant experience in a suitable professional role.
• Experience (training and education) relevant to managing noise and vibration on major construction projects.
• A sound understanding of noise and vibration Environmental Impact Assessment process, environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the S&C design throughout the design and construction technical life cycles, working with the design and construction teams, the S&C supplier and stakeholders. Ensure the S&C design comply with the appropriate client’s standards applicable, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
• Responsible for the S&C design delivery aspects for high-speed track contract, including integration of PW and any TW / temporary stages, integration of assurance and managing the delivery of the associated digital deliverables, in line with the construction and overall project programme, cost and client requirements. The track systems S&C scope include the development of several types of S&C across numerous locations, and implies coordination with CMS, other rail system elements as well as with the civil works designs.
• The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the designers and the supply chain inputs needed to achieve an efficient and compliant design for the S&Cs. 
• Close liaison with the Designer to ensure the design delivery on time, optimized and in accordance with the Client’s requirements is essential. This will also require working closely with supply chain and the client’s subject matter expert and other contractors. The role involves contributing to the management of the associated interfaces.
• Attend the weekly meetings with the construction team and broader design team and client in Birmingham and/or London. 
• Attending / chairing meetings for S&C design related issues during design and construction and provide technical support for their mitigation.
• Support the client with identifying change, risk and opportunities and constantly striving for efficiencies and cost savings.
• Aid in the study of optimization and liaison with the commercial, planning, design delivery teams, and designers.
• Support the link and coordination with construction teams for management of S&C related issues.
• Provide technical input and support to relevant commercial communications (SNCs, NCRs, CEs, Departures, etc.).
• Close out S&C issues within area of responsibility in timely manner.
• Review of monitoring reports and certificates.  Support progressive technical assurance during design, construction and handover process.

Key skills and experience

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• Chartereed IMEC, PWAy Institute or CEng ICE desirable.
• Experience relevant to S&C on major construction projects, including design, modeling, or construction support.
• A sound understanding of rail design codes for S&C.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities.
• Experience in managing and liaising with third parties and other contractors

The Role

The Design Engineer will perform activities related to the management of the design process in the project(s). Reporting directly to the Design Manager, the Design Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, and liaise with the Client, Design Consultants and relevant stakeholders in all matters related to Design and Engineering.

The DE will ensure design is delivered on time and on budget, and comply with the required Quality, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, and Sustainability standards and requirements. The DE will support the DM in managing the design Contract, including design changes, risk and opportunities.

The candidate shall also be open minded and proactive to explore additional uses of the tools and technologies available in the market with the aim of bringing innovation to the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the achievement of Health and Safety targets in accordance with company policy
• Tendering design packages from project briefs received by the Client – understand scope and negotiate offers upstream and downstream
• Agree Design Responsibility Matrix with all parties with design input in the project to ensure no gaps or overlaps
• Co-ordinate the design team activities to ensure that the project design is completed on budget in line with the cost plan, and on time in line with the agreed construction programme
• Monitor and track progress of the design, manage any slippages and be the interface with the management team
• Actively define and manage design interfaces
• Lead the review of the design with the interested parties
• Promote, explore and materialise value engineering opportunities throughout the design process
• Work with the procurement team to ensure compliance with financial parameters and assist in defining scopes for subcontracting the different works packages
• Be responsible for ensuring the design complies with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
• Work with the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental teams to support audits to Consultants
• Liaise with client representatives on the design development as required
• Liaise with the Engineering Services in Spain to ensure adherence to Ferrovial design processes and principles
• Assist in evidencing how Health by Design, Design for Safety and Design for Sustainability have been embedded in the design
• Review Consultants monthly Applications for payment
• Prepare design monthly KPI submission and meet targets
• Assist the Design Manager on the management of the design team, giving advice on appropriate resourcing levels, effective performance management, employee development and motivation
