The role
Ferrovial Construction is looking for a Quantity Surveyor Intern to support commercial management and contract administration on our Sewage Treatment Works project, from June to the end of August 2026.
The Ferrovial NextGen Internship programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. You will work under the supervision of our Senior Quantity Surveyors.
Key Responsibilities
A large part of your work will involve tender enquiries, analysis of quotations and subcontractor procurement.
Key Accountabilities

Resumen del Puesto**
Buscamos un Encargado de Instalaciones-MEP con experiencia para unirse a nuestro equipo en Madrid o Zaragoza. Será responsable de supervisar y coordinar la correcta ejecución de las instalaciones mecánicas, eléctricas y de fontanería (MEP) en proyectos complejos, asegurando la calidad y el cumplimiento de plazos y normativas.
Responsabilidades del Puesto**
* Supervisar y gestionar la ejecución de todas las instalaciones MEP (electricidad, climatización, fontanería, ventilación, etc.) en obra, garantizando la calidad y el cumplimiento de las especificaciones del proyecto.
* Coordinar y supervisar al personal a su cargo, así como a subcontratistas especializados en instalaciones.
* Realizar el seguimiento del cronograma de obra en lo referente a instalaciones, identificando y resolviendo posibles desviaciones.
* Interpretar planos, especificaciones técnicas y documentación del proyecto para asegurar la correcta implementación de las instalaciones.
* Colaborar con otros departamentos de obra (estructuras, producción, etc.) para garantizar una integración fluida de las instalaciones.
* Controlar la gestión de materiales y equipos necesarios para las instalaciones MEP.

MISIÓN:
Ejecutar las tareas necesarias para la puesta en marcha de subestaciones eléctricas de la red de transporte 400/220 kV, para RED ELECTRICA DE ESPAÑA y para el resto de compañías eléctricas, así como para Subestaciones de AT para clientes industriales, de acuerdo a los procedimientos internos (calidad, plazos, etc.) y a lo definido en el proyecto, asegurando el cumplimiento normativo en materia de seguridad tanto de los trabajadores como de las instalaciones, con el objetivo de garantizar el correcto funcionamiento tanto a nivel técnico como de seguridad y dando respuesta a los requerimientos del cliente.

Analizar y proponer soluciones a problemas o desviaciones sobre el proyecto detectadas en la obra, consensuándolas con el Responsable de Proyecto, y prestando asesoramiento técnico cuando sea necesario para cumplir con los requerimientos estipulados por el cliente en todas las fases del proyecto.

Planificar y hacer seguimiento de la ejecución de los trabajos de puesta en marcha de instalaciones eléctricas en obra, interpretando y analizando planos y esquemas eléctricos para dirigir al equipo y velando por el cumplimiento del cronograma establecido y los procedimientos en materia de seguridad y calidad.

Realizar ensayos y pruebas funcionales de las instalaciones (AT/MT) y de los sistemas de protección y control, elaborando los protocolos de pruebas con los resultados finales y revisando las pruebas realizadas por terceros o subcontratas.

Planificar y ejecutar las tareas necesarias (procedimientos de energización, comprobación de magnitudes eléctricas,…) para la puesta en servicio de la instalación, proponiendo soluciones ante los problemas detectados.

Mantener continua comunicación con el cliente para coordinar y planificar trabajos. Prestar soporte técnico ante problemas o incidencias surgidos en las instalaciones tras la puesta en marcha de las mismas.

En colaboración con el departamento de ingeniería, definir el sistema de control y protección en nuevas instalaciones a construir.

Elaborar documentación técnica para la realización de las configuraciones de protección y control por parte de los fabricantes de los equipos.

About us:
Alamo NEX Construction, LLC is a part of the Ferrovial Group in Texas. In 2021, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) selected Alamo NEX Construction, LLC, a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction Texas, LLC and DBW, LLC (both Ferrovial Group subsidiaries), to complete the Interstate 35 (I-35) NEX Central Project. Objective
Oversee duties involving heavy highway construction activities including earthwork/dirt, drainage, retaining walls, pavement, and traffic control. Manage skilled craftsmen on exciting and challenging construction projects. Work closely with project management while championing safety, fiscal responsibility, productivity, environmental and quality.
Deliverables
Ensure a safe working environment and uphold a rich safety culture by implementing Alamo NEX's high safety standards. Support Alamo NEX's goal of having Zero Recordable Safety incidents. Successfully manage and execute new construction activities by completing projects on time and under budget. These activities include earthwork (excavation and fill), removals, drainage, retaining walls, pavement and traffic control among others. Provide expert insight and solutions to unique problems and challenges related to construction activities and cost control.
Regular Job Duties
Monitor the schedule by regularly reviewing milestones and providing consistent solutions to a wide variety of challenges and multiple, simultaneous projects. Communicate and collaborate with management for schedule changes. Provide oversight to the work planning process including upcoming machinery needs, personnel requirements, road closures, and work in progress updates. Review work schedules, provide solutions for potential time delays, and implement strategies to meet milestones on time. Monitor work production and budget continuously while providing solutions to keep costs down and construction activities moving in the right direction. Work with an experienced team to share solutions, express concerns, monitor resources, and achieve goals. Interact with outside consultants, customers, and subcontractors by sharing new and relevant information in an effective, professional manner. Enforce company standards related to work ethics, safety, quality, and other company policies within the work group. Supervise, manage, and direct the hiring, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel. Understand and ensure that contractual requirements including local, state, and federal regulations are followed. Monitor and communicate equipment utilization and upcoming needs. Qualifications
Ten (10) or more years of heavy highway and civil construction as a superintendent. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications using proper grammar and spelling. Preference will be given to those who are bilingual in English and Spanish. This position requires the ability to clearly and effectively communicate via E-mail, presentations, and reports. Moderate level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and internet search engines. Mathematical proficiency as it relates to basic accounting, geometry, algebra, and mathematics. Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating a truck, lifting up to 50 pounds Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind Experience on managing construction activities with both subcontractors and self-performing crews.

Programador – Especialista primavera (P6)
- El/la Programador/a de Planificación y Control (Primavera P6) es responsable de planificar, coordinar y controlar de forma rigurosa el avance del proyecto, asegurando la integración del cronograma maestro, la coherencia entre especialidades y la disponibilidad de información confiable para decisiones oportunas. Su aporte es clave para anticipar desviaciones, gestionar la ruta crítica y generar análisis predictivos que fortalezcan la eficiencia y productividad del proyecto. El rol se desempeña en modalidad presencial, de lunes a sábado, y trabaja estrechamente con Oficina Técnica, Construcción, Ingeniería y contratistas para consolidar avances, mantener la línea base y reportar desempeño mediante métricas.
Principales responsabilidades (3 a 5)
- Desarrollar y mantener el cronograma maestro en Primavera P6, integrando hitos, dependencias y secuencias constructivas.
- Monitorear el avance real vs. planificado, identificando desviaciones relevantes y proponiendo acciones correctivas con sustento técnico.
- Coordinar con jefaturas, ingenierías y contratistas la recepción y consolidación de información para asegurar un plan actualizado y confiable.

- Experiencia: mín. 8 años en construcción (subterránea o superficial) y mín. 5 años en programación y control en terreno; ideal en megaproyectos (metro/túneles/estaciones/obras lineales).
- Herramientas: dominio avanzado de Primavera P6 (obligatorio), manejo de MS Project y Excel avanzado (tablas dinámicas, macros, Power Query).
