The Roadway Engineer in Training will work on a range of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design&Build Projects across the United States for both the bidding and the construction phase. The candidate will be trained in a wide variety of civil-design–related tasks and work as a team member with other professional peers who will supervise his work and provide mentoring.

As a Structural EIT, you will work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design & Build Projects across the US, either the bidding phase or the construction phase. You will have the opportunity to learn and improve the company standards for structural and bridge design. You will become part of a team that supports all parts of the structural design process by proposing innovative solutions, performing and reviewing structural calculations. You will collaborate with other Ferrovial departments, being exposed to construction Means & Methods and Estimating which will enhance your expertise in construction-focused structural design.

The Design engineer will report directly to the Design Manager and will work closely with the Project Manager, and liaise with the Client, Design Consultants and relevant stakeholders in all matters related to Design and Engineering. You will ensure design is delivered on time and on budget, and comply with the required Quality, Health, Safety and Wellbeing and Sustainability standards and requirements. You will also manage the design Contract, including design changes, risk and opportunities. - Tendering design packages from project briefs received by the Client – understand scope and negotiate offers upstream and downstream.
- Agree Design Responsibility Matrix with all parties with design input in the project to ensure no gaps or overlaps.

FUNCIONES
Si eres Ingeniero/a de Caminos, Canales y Puertos…
- Control de la planificación de obra de los tajos asignados, establecidos juntos con el Jefe/a de Obra a nivel técnico y económico.
- Especificación de objetivos mensuales de producción y seguimiento del avance.
- Control y previsión de costes, así como colaboración con el Jefe/a de Obra en la realización de los cierres mensuales.
- Realización de las mediciones reales y su comparación respecto a planos.
- Definición y apoyo al Encargado/a a pie de obra para el cumplimiento de los trabajos asignados.
- Supervisión técnica de la ejecución de los trabajos de acuerdo al proyecto y a la normativa existente.
- Control de la calidad técnica de la Obra. Supervisión del cumplimiento de la norma de Seguridad y Salud en Obra.
Si eres Ingeniero/a Industrial…
- Controlar la producción de Obra.
- Planificar la obra, así como elaborar el seguimiento y apoyo al Jefe/a de Obra.
- Controlar subcontratas.
- Realizar la petición de ofertas y elaborar de comparativos.
- Realizar la revisión de proyectos de instalaciones según normativa.
- Controlar legalizaciones.
REQUISITOS
- Título en Máster de Ingeniería Caminos, Canales y Puertos o Ingeniería Industrial ( o a falta de TFM).
- Experiencia: no requerida.
- Movilidad geográfica.
- Inglés B2-C1.
- Carnet de conducir B.

Track Switches and Crossings (S&C) Design Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the S&C design throughout the design and construction technical life cycles, working with the design and construction teams, the S&C supplier and stakeholders. Ensure the S&C design comply with the appropriate client’s standards applicable, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
- Responsible for the S&C design delivery aspects for high-speed track contract, including integration of PW and any TW / temporary stages, integration of assurance and managing the delivery of the associated digital deliverables, in line with the construction and overall project programme, cost and client requirements. The track systems S&C scope include the development of several types of S&C across numerous locations, and implies coordination with CMS, other rail system elements as well as with the civil works designs.
- The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the designers and the supply chain inputs needed to achieve an efficient and compliant design for the S&Cs.
- Close liaison with the Designer to ensure the design delivery on time, optimized and in accordance with the Client’s requirements is essential. This will also require working closely with supply chain and the client’s subject matter expert and other contractors. The role involves contributing to the management of the associated interfaces.
- Attend the weekly meetings with the construction team and broader design team and client in Birmingham and/or London.
- Attending / chairing meetings for S&C design related issues during design and construction and provide technical support for their mitigation.
- Support the client with identifying change, risk and opportunities and constantly striving for efficiencies and cost savings.
- Aid in the study of optimization and liaison with the commercial, planning, design delivery teams, and designers.
- Support the link and coordination with construction teams for management of S&C related issues.
- Provide technical input and support to relevant commercial communications (SNCs, NCRs, CEs, Departures, etc.).
- Close out S&C issues within area of responsibility in timely manner.
- Review of monitoring reports and certificates. Support progressive technical assurance during design, construction and handover process.
Key skills and experience
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- Chartereed IMEC, PWAy Institute or CEng ICE desirable.
- Experience relevant to S&C on major construction projects, including design, modeling, or construction support.
- A sound understanding of rail design codes for S&C.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities.
- Experience in managing and liaising with third parties and other contractors
- Very good communication skills

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the acoustic design development and control of noise and vibration throughout the design and construction technical life cycles, working with the Employer, Designers’ Noise and Vibration team, suppliers, and other contractors delivering other parts of the track system and stakeholders.
- Responsible for the N&V design aspects for a high-speed track contract. The track systems N&V scope includes the selection of a track system to mitigate the ground-borne N&V as far as reasonably practicable, comply with the client’s environmental minimum requirements, taking all reasonable steps to ensure that environmental impacts are no worse than those stated in the Environmental Statement and achieve the above by demonstrating that the insertion gain (IG) is equal or better than the criteria set out in the client’s specifications for each area.
- Close coordination with other design disciplines and components of the track and rail systems components design, and liaison with the Designer to ensure the delivery on time, optimized and in accordance with the Client’s requirements is essential. This will also require working close with stakeholders and other contractors delivering other parts of the track system.
- The candidate will be responsible for leading the N&V design aspects relevant to the works.

- Degree-level qualification in an acoustics-related discipline, or an appropriate postgraduate qualification, or relevant experience in a suitable professional role.
- Experience (training and education) relevant to managing noise and vibration on major construction projects.
- A sound understanding of noise and vibration Environmental Impact Assessment process, environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities.

Objective
Oversee duties involving heavy highway construction activities including structures, earthwork/dirt, concrete and utilities. Manage skilled craftsmen on exciting and challenging construction projects. Work closely with project management while championing safety, fiscal responsibility, productivity, and quality.
Deliverables
Ensure a safe working environment and uphold a rich safety culture by implementing Webber's high safety standards. Support Webber's goal of having Zero Recordable Safety incidents. Manage and execute winning projects. Successfully manage new construction, maintenance, and repair of structures by completing projects on time and under budget. Structures include bridges, retaining walls, overhangs, columns, and other heavy highway and infrastructure projects. Provide expert insight and solutions to unique problems and challenges related to construction activities and cost control.

Qualifications
Ten (10) or more years of heavy highway and civil construction as a superintendent. High School Diploma or GED. Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications using proper grammar and spelling. Preference will be given to those who are bilingual in English and Spanish. This position requires the ability to clearly and effectively communicate via E-mail, presentations, and reports. Moderate level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and internet search engines. Mathematical proficiency as it relates to basic accounting, geometry, algebra, and mathematics.
