Overview:
A drill operator's day-to-day responsibilities include performing daily checklists to ensure all well control equipment is fully functional and up to date. They set up and operate gun drilling equipment, making necessary corrections to keep production running in spec. They also load reel of fiber optic cable on flex track 150 plow cable six feet deep. Drill operators use hand tools and power tools to drill holes into materials depending on their types. They cross-train in other departments to broaden their skills, like pcb engineering. They read diagrams and drill holes into wood at specific locations and depths. They also regulate air pressure, rotary speed, and downward pressure, according to the type of rock or concrete being drilled. They perform equipment maintenance in shop/yard locations and install inclinometers for ground movement and take soil samples. They monitor customer specifications to ensure all requirements are met. They also replace spindles and run accuracy checks.
Daily Job Duties:
- Observe all OSHA regulations.
- Work in shop and run hot shots as needed.
- Operate numerous types of drilling equipment including truck, track and ATV mount drills.
- Operate heavy equipment, including motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, backhoes.
- Perform geotechnical and environmental drilling with HSA, air and mud rotary, and direct push equipment.
- Operate excavator and backhoe to expose and excavate (bell-hole) high pressure lines for tie-ins, crossings and boring.
- Operate a backhoe for foundations, curb and gutter, sidewalks, entrances and other projects pertaining to the job layout.
- Signal and verbally direct workers engage in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of heavy highway and civil construction as a Drill Operator
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
- Mathematical proficiency as it relates to basic geometry, algebra, and mathematics
- Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Position Summary
Plans, coordinates, and participates in the electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on movable bridges, including roadway and navigational lighting and fender systems.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates & participates in the electrical maintenance & repair of movable bridges and roadway lighting.
- Installs, maintains and repairs wiring, electrical circuits, switches, relays, resistors, contactors, lighting, motors, generators, surge arrestors, breaker, fuses, PCL, control circuits, drives, and related mechanical & hydraulic equipment.

- Perform Must be comfortable working from heights in bucket trucks, snooper trucks, scaffolding, ladders and aerial platforms lifts.

- Perform routine maintenance and service Air Condition Units.

Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining contracted assets (roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, etc.) per standards and conditions specified in the contract as directed by the Patrol Supervisor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Performing duties of shift supervisor during the winter maintenance season.

Assisting supervisor in/or completing, as directed, the organizing/planning of work to be carried out on a daily/weekly basis,

Organizing work activities by arranging for appropriate equipment, material and labor.

Overseeing work operations insuring value for money is being achieved and the work is being performed in accordance with recognized safety requirements, standards, policies and procedures.

Providing leadership and training to junior Webber staff, including instructions on safety techniques, methods and procedures.

Inspecting work performed by contract staff for compliance to standards and contractual agreement advising contractors of deficiencies and reporting on performance to supervisor.

Advising supervisor on such matters as work performance, training, planning and organizing traffic control at work sites.
Performs administrative activities in accordance with MTO and Webber procedures by:

Completing, reviewing and maintaining a variety of records, covering work activities related to equipment operation and maintenance hours of work, and material usage (e.g. MMIS, daily inspection books, equipment time sheets, expense forms and reports on sand and salt usage/vehicle accidents/personal injury, etc.)

Assisting in the preparation and the ongoing monitoring of the weekly, monthly and annual work plan.

Providing information for analysis of contractor or public claims.

Liaising with property owners, the general public and individuals from organizations such as police, municipal and other Ontario Government Ministries, and utility companies for the purpose of exchanging information, promoting and maintaining good public relations and as applicable, ensuring compliance with Ministry and Webber requirements.

Occasionally may operate any patrol equipment when deemed necessary for the efficient operations of the patrol.

Initiating Contract staff call-outs and administering hired equipment tenders.

Responding on behalf of the Ministry and Webber in emergency circumstances such as accidents, spills, inclement weather or implementation of emergency plans.

Working knowledge of maintenance and maintenance related construction contracts and agreements. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs. Good verbal communication skills, effective written communication skills to prepare reports, recommendations and rationale statements.

Ability to prepare and maintain neat accurate records.

Good investigative/analytical skills are required to research the background of claims, analyze technical data collected, evaluate the validity of different points of view and maintain objectivity in the assessment of claims.

Ability to use software packages for word processing, spreadsheet, database, electronic mail and critical path scheduling applications.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Operates a rubber-tired machine mounted with a backhoe bucket on one end and a loader bucket on the other end. Used for excavating ditches and structures, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, carrying material in the loader bucket, and general excavation and backfill. May also be equipped with hydraulic attachments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
- Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
- May oil, grease, or otherwise service the machine.
- Make necessary adjustment to equipment as needed.

Job Description:
Position Summary
Load equipment and tow to job site locations. Maintain contracted assets (roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, etc.) per standards and conditions specified in the contract.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair highway and other surfaces including signs, guardrails, fence, lighting, potholes, striping, adding or replacing reflectors, litter and debris removal
- Maintain sweeping plan and operate vehicles and equipment to as required to facilitate said plan. Assist in maintenance of sweeping equipment to ensure continuous use.
- Operate vehicles and equipment as required: for surface and right-of-way maintenance and repair; repair/maintenance of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, etc.; to control vegetation appearance and growth.
- Traffic control setup and removal
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites
- Required to be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Effectively communicate (in English); both orally and in writing with co-workers and supervisor.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- Understand instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Capability of working in an environment in which demands and priorities change rapidly.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, traffic control devices and mobile equipment such as tractors, graders, mowers, sweepers, augers and other types of equipment used for surface and right of way maintenance and repair.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in construction, road maintenance, commercial/industrial repair, maintenance or landscaping
- Valid CDL Class B driver's license.
- Tanker Endorsement (i.e. CDL Tanker)
- Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, WHMIS and job-related aspects of Occupational Health.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- This position requires a highly developed sense of safety awareness and perceptive ability. Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident. Ability to communicate with co-workers, safety instructions. Ability to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tools and equipment, while driving or operating equipment. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents, the noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate.
