Creating value for our Employees

Creating value by protecting and empowering our people.

We prioritize health, safety, and well-being while fostering talent development and continuous learning to build strong, high-performing teams.

Protecting Our People

Life Saving Controls

Our health, safety, and wellbeing strategy starts with our leadership and is put into action through a targeted approach that starts with commitment by every member to identify, engage, and take action to mitigate potential risks. We support this through the development of core competencies, ensuring resilience in our team members, and leveraging technology to improve outcomes.

Our leaders document their individual commitment to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW). These are shared with all employees as an outward demonstration of leadership commitment.

Always Safe, Always Ready Initiative

This year-round program empowers Cintra and project team members to stop work if they feel unsafe or observe unsafe practices. Through the development of training, tools, and best practice sharing, we strive to support knowledge and awareness so our teams can execute safely, every day.

Wellbeing – Coming home feeling better for tomorrow

Talent Management

Our business model is focused on achieving results, but there are no results without people. Talent is one of the most valuable assets at Cintra and Ferrovial, and that’s why we promote a talent management approach focused on attracting, developing, and retaining highly qualified professionals. This strategy is based on fostering collective intelligence, high-performing teams, promoting health and well-being, and developing a strong corporate culture that generates positive impacts both within the organization and in society.

Talent Attraction and Enhancement

Talent attraction: We focus on attracting talent from various sectors. For Engineering roles, the focus is civil, transportation infrastructure, construction management profiles/ degree types. Additionally, we do also seek data science (machine learning), investment /economics, and project management. Another niche industry we seek talent in is Intelligent Tolling Systems (ITS).

Talent enhancement: through a development model  that identifies talent by reviewing individual goals and critical competencies, enabling personalized development plans. This approach supports tailored actions for key employees, internal mobility, exclusive training, and performance improvement strategies.

Continuous Learning

Ferrovial provides access to over 20,000 online training resources through its Learning Center, complemented by development programs from Ferrovial University. In 2024, more than 6,000 employees engaged in upskilling and reskilling pathways, with a focus on areas such as AI, leadership, technical certifications, sustainability, health and well-being, finance, and digital skills.

Corporate Culture and Values

Cintra actively integrates Ferrovial’s core values — Respect, Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, and Excellence — into everyday operations through a network of ambassadors and values workshops. These initiatives strengthen cohesion, commitment, and excellence across all business units.
