Job Description:

As a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring the roadways including detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents, congestion, and monitoring of dynamic toll pricing on the I-77 MP’s Managed Lanes Projects.  The operator position is the eyes and ears for detection and management of all activities being handled by the TMC.  You will provide administrative support to the Operations and Maintenance department for efficient operations.

Position Summary 

This role completes construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; completing quality inspections; supervising sub-contractors and staffThe position reports to the Project Manager, and will supervise crew in completing the project, ensuring safety and timely completion of tasks.

Education and Experience 

  • High School Diploma / GED required 

  • Experience as a Foreman / Crew Supervisor within related industry and road construction projects 

  • Valid driver’s license required and a good driving record to drive company vehicle. 

Work Conditions/Physical Demands 

  • Capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds and working at heights.  

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.  

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted. 

  • Ability to work in confined spaces.  

  • Ability to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment.  Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, Nomex coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses. 

  • Position will be required to backfill for the Maintenance Superintendent and must be able to work OT during the week and on weekends.

About us:

Alamo NEX Construction, LLC is a part of the Ferrovial Group in Texas. In 2021, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) selected Alamo NEX Construction, LLC, a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction Texas, LLC and DBW, LLC (both Ferrovial Group subsidiaries), to complete the Interstate 35 (I-35) NEX Central Project. This project is a $1.5 billion Texas Design-Build (DB) project through the cities of San Antonio, Live Oak, Selma, and Schertz that will consist of non-tolled improvements along I-35, I-140, and Loop 1604. The proposed improvements will include the addition of elevated managed lanes to I-35, addition of 4 connector bridges at the I-35/I-410 North interchange, addition of 4 connector bridges at the I-35/Loop 1604 interchange, and widening of Loop 1604 in Bexar and Guadalupe Counties.

Job Duties 

  • Cuts, lays out, fits and welds metals or alloyed metal parts to fabricate or repair equipment.  

  • Welds the joints between lengths of pipe for oil, gas or other types of pipelines.  

  • Welds structural steel girders and diaphragms.  

  • May assist in welding of permanent metal deck forms.  

  • Whatever enhances the operations of the company. 

 

Job Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required 

  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications 

  • Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature
