Job Description:

• POSITION SUMMARY 

  The VDC/BIM Manager leads the coordination, integration, and delivery of all BIM and 4D schedule efforts across the tender, design, construction, and handover for the O&M lifecycle. This position plays a critical role in aligning digital models with schedule, cost, QA/QC, and asset data, using platforms such as Bentley Synchro Pro, Synchro Modeler, and iTwin. The manager will ensure compliance with contract documents, DOT/SRTA requirements, and international BIM standards (NBIMS-US v4, ISO 19650). 

   

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • 4D Modeling & Construction Sequencing 

  • Develop, manage, and update the 4D construction model using Synchro Pro (.sp/.spx) aligned with Primavera P6 schedules (.xer). 

  • Generate and submit 4D simulations (AVI) highlighting: Critical path, In-progress activities  

  • Coordinate with schedulers to maintain alignment between 4D and cost-loaded CPM schedules. 

  • Validate construction logic, phasing, and means & methods through visual simulations and field review. 

  • BIM Management & Model Coordination 

  • Lead the coordination of design models in for civil and utility disciplines. 

  • Oversee model federation and clash detection using iTwin Model Review ensuring spatial coordination and construction feasibility. 

  • Manage Synchro Modeler workflows for work package visualization and 4D planning support. 

  • Maintain model standards, layer structure, classification codes, and metadata integrity in accordance with BIM Execution Plan. 

  • Coordinate with Survey, Utilities, and Structures for full model integration and GIS asset geolocation. 

  • 3D Model QA/QC & Auditing 

  • Conduct model audits to verify that the models meet all DOT and Ferrovial Construction requirements (Naming conventions, File structure, Level of Detail (LOD), etc…) 

  • Volume consistency with design plans 

  • Compliance with BEP and asset register formats 

  • Interface with design consultants and construction teams to resolve issues identified during BIM quality checks. 

  • Ensure 3D models support accurate quantity takeoffs (QTOs), cost tracking, and scope verification. 

  • O&M Model Preparation & Lifecycle Handover 

  • Develop and manage the digital twin structure for the O&M phase. 

  • Support tagging of asset elements with manufacturer data, installation dates, warranties, and maintenance requirements. 

  • Coordinate with ITS/Tolling and systems integrators to incorporate all elements like fiber optics, and electronic assets in the model. 

  • Deliver a fully federated as-built BIM model aligned with COBie orthe DOT-required asset data schemas. 

  • Submittal & Documentation Compliance 

  • Submit all digital deliverables (4D models, AVI simulations, .xer schedules, and model data) through DOT’s PMCS (e-Builder), following all file naming, versioning, and folder structure conventions. 

  • Ensure document control compliance per contract requirements 

  • Provide Synchro Open Viewer-compatible models to DOT/SRTA reviewers. 

  • Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Produce filtered Gantt charts, S-curves, work package visualizations, and BIM dashboards for monthly progress reporting. 

  • Interface with Design Leads, Construction Managers, Survey, ITS, and Tolling groups for interdisciplinary alignment. 

  • Support lane closure visualization and planning to comply with Lane Rental Charge Reporting (Attachment 2-12). 

  • Train project team members in Synchro, iTwin, and model navigation tools. 

   

   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of BIM/VDC experience with at least 3 years in 4D modeling and digital delivery for infrastructure projects. 

  • Bentley Synchro Professional Accreditation 

  • Expertise in: 

  • Synchro Pro, Modeler, Control Admin and Field.  

  • iTwin  

  • ProjectWise 

  • Primavera P6 

  • Bentley OpenRoads Designer

• Job Overview: The Utilities Design Manager will supervise and the coordinate all design works related to utilities for major transportation projects (min. $250 million/Project) and with a minimum Utility relocation budget of $50 million. The UDC will coordinate a team of design consultants and will provide technical oversight during utility planning, design and construction stages.  

• • Responsibilities and Duties: List the essential duties required to carry out the job. This should be listed in order of importance and use complete sentences starting with verbs in the present tense 

    Coordination of Utility Consultant 

    Provide support to the selection of utility design consultants for the preparation of the tender design works.  

    Responsible for managing and coordinating the selected consultant to deliver the tender design product.  

    Attend and manage Utility meetings with Construction and Contracting staff and potentially with Utility Owners to coordinate various Utility issues, including, but not limited to, agreements, designs, conflicts, meeting minutes and agendas. 

    Coordinate Utility design and, if applicable, Project Utility Adjustment Agreement (PUAA) language to incorporate into the Utility tender deliverables. 

     

     Utility Conflict Matrix 

    Responsible for identifying utilities and implementing strategies to clear the maximum number of conflicts that could arise. Responsible to gain the maximum understanding of the project and familiar will state’s laws and regulations.  

    Responsible to review Owner’s documents and define existing utilities inventory, and to prepare and maintain the Utility Owner contact and representative’s matrix. 

    Identify to the possible extend all new Utilities on the Project not listed in the SUE provided. Determine the need to perform additional SUE investigation and coordinate this performance with potential consultants.  

    Coordinate with the other tender design discipline leads to address the conflict analysis matrix with the developing design plan work. Determine and maintain conflict matrix which shall include all existing Utilities that are to remain in service/place, be abandoned and to be relocated. Update the conflict matrix while changes are implemented/proposed in the design, warning when a change could produce a significant conflict with utilities. 

    Coordinate with the Tender Design Manager and the rest of the discipline leads to maximize the Utility conflict avoidance.  

      

    Prepare Utility Relocation preliminary design 

    Manage the development of Utility relocation preliminary design. 

    Manage, review and update the Utility concept plan in strip map plan format using conflict analysis spreadsheets to map the existing utilities versus the proposed Utility adjustments with respect to the proposed roadway plans. The Utility concept plan shall include the existing and proposed ROW, DOT highway station numbering, plan, profile, bridge structures, other existing Utilities, drainage structures, retaining walls and noise walls. The layout shall be utilized to facilitate the feasibility options for the Utility adjustments. 

    Coordinate with necessary team members to determine most cost-effective conflict resolutions by assessing the impact of each Utility relocation within the Project corridor. 

     

    ROW & EASEMENTS 

    Review acquired property interest information (easement documentation) from each Utility, as needed, and prepare a property matrix to establish costs associated with the Utility property interest relinquishment and acquisition. 

    Support of easement acquisition tender services, if required. Prepare anticipated easement ROW areas in MicroStation. 

     

    BOQ and estimated Utility relocation construction cost 

    Manage the development of the engineer's estimate of probable construction costs spreadsheet for Utility relocations. 

     

    Schedule 

    Manage the development of the engineer's estimate of probable construction schedule for Utility relocations. 

     

       

    Qualifications: Include the education level, experience, specific skills, personal characteristics, certifications, licenses, and physical abilities required for the job 

     

    The UDM must have graduated from an accredited college or university with at a minimum a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or MEP. 

     

    The UDM must have a relevant experience performing work on highway design and construction projects.  

     

    The UDM must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience of UC on Public/Private Partnership type projects, or Desing and Build projects.

About us:

Alamo NEX Construction, LLC is a part of the Ferrovial Group in Texas. In 2021, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) selected Alamo NEX Construction, LLC, a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction Texas, LLC and DBW, LLC (both Ferrovial Group subsidiaries), to complete the Interstate 35 (I-35) NEX Central Project. JOB DUTIES:       The Design Quality Control Manager Supervise, manage, and direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel. Develop and maintain a working relationship with the owner or the owner's representative. Anticipate project segment conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues. Generate solutions to stay on time and on budget. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills. Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and stakeholders. Provide leadership through building relationships, motivating others, providing clear direction, and cooperative teamwork. Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs. Oversee the establishment, implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures and quality review standards. Oversee the updates to the Professional Services Quality management Plan (“PSQMP”) as needed or as required by the contract. Ensure the methods and procedures contained in the approved PSQMP are implemented and followed in the performance of the work. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Four (4) years of experience on large civil infrastructure Design build or Design-bid-build projects valued at $200 million or more with the following specific experience: Previous experience managing engineering activities related to a design-build (DB) transportation (highways, bridges, runways, or rail) construction projects. Proficiency in utilizing software to manage  engineering and construction activities on DB transportation projects, specifically, Bluebeam Revu, Power Geopak, Procore, databases, and SharePoint document control systems. Working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry on a DB project. Two (2) years of experience – within the four (4) – with coordinating multidisciplinary construction teams on large DB transportation projects which include design and construction engineers, superintendents, and inspectors. Calculating figures and amounts and applying concepts of algebra and geometry on DB civil infrastructure projects, specifically discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Managing project budget and cost control activities and utilizing MS Excel to track payments on a DB transportation project.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Registered E.I.T., with a Professional Engineering (PE) registration or ability and eligibility to apply within 6 months of onboarding.

About H7, Heathrow

Ferrovial Construction has been working at Heathrow Airport for over 10 years delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects to high quality, safety and environmental standards.

Since joining Heathrow’s framework in 2014, Ferrovial Construction has delivered a variety of airside and landside projects across the whole airport. For example, we have delivered new taxiways and rehabilitated existing taxiways and the southern runway. We have also redeveloped sterile and grass areas and replaced critical assets, such as fire main, fuel main and HV ducts. We are currently working alongside Heathrow to rehabilitate assets with expired design life’s and plan for a future runway resurfacing project.

We are constantly designing and planning our works around critical assets and engaging with different key stakeholders in order to deliver Heathrow value for money.

Our H7 framework spans from airfield works (taxiways, runways, stands), to civils (roads, demolition works, underground and above ground structures), and MEP packages (services tunnels, lifts, life safety systems, fuel/fire mains).

Assisting the Area/Senior Quantity Suveryor and working as part of an integrated project team. To deliver a successful commercial outcome to the projects(s) with which you are associated.
The tasks to be carried out will be of a mixture of supporting nature and independently leading, and will be carried out periodically, but will require working to regular deadlines:

• Input in to Cost / Value reconciliations.
• Bottom Up and End Life Cost Reporting.
• Prepare and agree interim valuations / final valuations / final accounts / sub-contract final accounts
• Prepare and issue certification / payment of sub-contractors
