Position Summary
Under the direction of the Regional HSEQ Manager, the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Coordinator will assist in maintaining the company's health and safety systems in order to meet company and legislative compliance. This includes but is not limited to assisting with documenting training and assisiting with WSIB case management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, organize, manage, maintain, and administer the Health and Safety Program in collaboration with Health and Safety department
- Relay required safety information to all staff
- Identify safety training requirements, make recommendations to Safety Committees, and schedule the training as approved and required
- Conduct safety training within the scope of his/her experience and certification
- Complete internal audits as required
- Assist with hazard assessments
- Coordinate regarding requirements for achieving COR Certification
- Maintain the WHMIS program, including current SOS and staff training
- Contribute positively to creating a safe and secure environment to support student learning
- Assist in the development, coordination, and maintenance of emergency preparedness plans
- Provide support with WSIB case management including being familiar with the Board's regulations and policies
- Work closely with the managers and supervisors ensuring compliance with safety legislation and company programs while at work
- Coordinate the review of health and safety related policies and procedures
- Monitor and advise on legislative and technical changes relating to health and safety
- Provide information to employees on health and safety
- Maintain and expand upon professional competence
- Other tasks, as required by the Operation Leadership Team and/or Regional HSEQ.

- Ability to interact effectively with individuals in a wide range of situations, circumstances, and settings as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce to achieve stated HSE objectives.
- Ability to operate a computer effectively and the ability to use Microsoft Office products and other software applications effectively to manage information.
- Ability to act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret and effectively communicate technical documents such as JHAs to workers, visitors, and any other appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Pass driver's abstract and background check
Education and Experience
- Post-Secondary education in a related field of Helath & Safety or Human Resources
- 1+ years of related work experience or a combination of COOP terms working on a HSEQ team
- Willing to work towards NCSO certification
- Valid driver's license with an exemplary driving record.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- Have the physical ability to walk at least one mile in rugged, sloped terrain and lift 35 pounds unassisted.
- Have the physical ability to reach, bend, squat, climb, stand, and sit in both hot and cold environments.
- Must have the ability to wear the required PPE.
- Think clearly and make sound decisions in a loud, congested environment, with multiple moving hazards

Position Summary
The Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Coordinator supports the implementation and administration of the company’s Health and Safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and organizational requirements. This role coordinates incident management, documentation, reporting, training, and administration of the HSEQ Management System. Working closely with project teams and leadership, the HSEQ Coordinator promotes a strong safety culture while ensuring safety processes are managed accurately, consistently, and efficiently.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Health & Safety management systems, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate incident, close‑call, and hazard reporting, including data entry, corrective action tracking, and closure.
- Support safety training programs, orientations, safety meetings, and Safety Committee activities, including documentation and recordkeeping.
- Prepare and distribute safety reports, incident alerts, toolbox talk materials, and internal safety communications.
- Assist with audits, risk assessments, JHAs, safety plans, and reviews of compliance documentation and contract requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives while promoting a positive, compliant, and proactive safety culture.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of general Health & Safety regulations, standards, and best practices, including incident management, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of HSEQ management systems, including documentation control, recordkeeping, reporting, and corrective action tracking.
- Familiarity with workplace safety policies, risk assessment methodologies, training administration, and incident/close‑call documentation.
Skills
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of reports, correspondence, and safety communications.
- Effective problem‑solving skills and sound judgment when supporting safety reviews and compliance activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other systems used for safety data tracking and documentation.

Education and Experience
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (required).

- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience and technical expertise may be substituted.
- Experience with systems such as Esri, Workday, Cority, and HCSS preferred but not required.

- Ability to identify unsafe conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
