About The Role

As Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Ferrovial’s HSW strategy at both corporate and business unit levels. This position leads internal and external reporting, drives audit programs, and acts as the key interlocutor for sustainability indexes and compliance processes. You will collaborate across departments, manage strategic projects, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing are embedded throughout the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare and manage reports for the Board of Directors, Management Committee, and other meetings.
  • Help develop and keep corporate reporting tools up to date.
  • Handle external reporting requirements, including CSRD for Ferrovial’s Annual Report and 20-F, and conduct necessary assessments.

Audit and Compliance

  • Lead the HSW team in carrying out internal and external audits covering health, safety, and wellbeing data.
  • Work with other departments to support the audit process.
  • Take part in legal and ethical compliance activities.
  • Help review and improve Ferrovial’s sustainability-linked financing plans.

Strategic Leadership and Collaboration

  • Represent health and safety for sustainability indexes like DSJI and FTSE4Good.
  • Contribute to Ferrovial’s overall strategy, making sure health, safety, and wellbeing are considered.
  • Support the rollout of HSW strategic plans across business areas.
  • Manage and oversee key projects in the HSW Strategic Plan.
  • Work with HSW leaders in different business units to ensure consistency.

Performance Monitoring and Risk Management

  • Track and report on progress and KPIs for the strategic plan every quarter.
  • Assist with risk management by evaluating key health and safety risks at the group level.

Departmental Coordination and Office Management

  • Serve as the main contact for health, safety, and wellbeing matters in any corporate department.
  • Coordinate health and safety activities at the Amsterdam office.
  • Plan and run HSW communication campaigns with the Communications team to encourage awareness and participation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety management, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in health, safety, and wellbeing roles, including work in international environments
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and international health and safety standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for sharing complex HSW concepts within the organization.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities to support data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects or initiatives at the same time.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.

Functions:

Scope and scale

  • Health and Safety Lead for major programs or Business division
