Job Description:
Position Summary
This is a broad role with a significant customer focus that will include overall coordination of our business development and bidding initiatives. Internal coordination with our technical and operational teams will be common, and will require excellent organizational skills in order to execute highly-complex assignments. It is important that this role be flexible in performing many aspects of the commercial business function and the chosen candidate will be required to focus on more than just one task at a time.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a Commercial Bid Writer position that will support our various transportation infrastructure projects, not technical IT related work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain team documentation efforts for responses to RFI's, RFQ's and RFP's.
- Lead in the messaging and development of materials and submittals.
- Analyze requirements and ensure that all proposals meet requirements.
- Coordinate all aspects of the bid process including development, outline, prepare review drafts, scheduling review meetings, and tracking completion of team assignments.
- Collate team concept drafts into a single body of work and ensure that completed submissions are professional, cohesive and credible.
- Assist with maintaining a database with standard proposal responses.
- Taking direct leadership role in the submittal process, contributing intelligence related to clients and competitors to support project pursuits.
- Evaluating technical content to make sure that it satisfies the RFP process.
- Assist in ensuring all bidding qualifications are in place and maintained.
- Will Travel: Up to 20%.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple, complex proposals at the same time; strong attention to detail, accuracy and consistency; collaborative work style with high motivation and drive to be successful; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment; skilled in critical thinking, analysis and problem solving.
- Knowledge of the RFP and RFQ process; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; excellent communication (verbal, written, interpersonal), analytical and presentation skills; high levels of commercial and business acumen. Knowledge in InDesign is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of proposal writing experience. Experience writing proposals for infrastructure or related industries such as engineering, construction or transportation is a plus.
