Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation 

The Preconstruction Coordinator is responsible for supporting the preconstruction and estimating teams in preparing documentation in support of cost estimates, proposals and deliverables for construction projects. This role involves coordinating various tasks, managing documentation, and ensuring that all required information is gathered and analyzed to produce reliable estimates. 

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Assist in document control, bid proposal coordination, document distribution, setting up bid tools, building as-bid documentation, as well as control and distribution of alternative delivery documentation during preconstruction.  

  • Organize and maintain all preconstruction and estimating-related documents, including drawings, specifications, addendums, requests for proposals contracts and bid proposals. 

  • Gather and analyze data from various sources to support the estimating process, including surety and bonding requests. 

  • Maintain logs required for management of deliverables (i.e. bid, pricing data, vendor, and subcontractor) 

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain necessary information and clarify project requirements. 

  • Help prepare and review bid proposals to ensure accuracy and completeness. 

  • Maintain and update templates, documents, databases and software tools. 

  • Review and analyze contract documents, requests to bid, and requests for proposals 

  • Coordination of all internal stakeholders for estimates and proposals to ensure compliance with company policies 

  • Review industry postings for potential projects 

  • Coordinate loading and the distribution of information for subcontractor and supplier bidding 

  • Gather information from team members to write processes, procedures and workflows for standard department tasks 

  • Other unlisted duties will be required. 

 

Who You Are: A Profile of Success 

  • Previous experience in construction or office coordination or a related role is strongly preferred. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering administration, or a related field is desired but not required. 

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • Technical writing proficiency 

  • Other Attributes: 

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and coordinate multiple activities concurrently. 

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work 

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
