Currently, our three principal electrical transmission assets combined under the Power Infrastructure brand are:

  • Transchile Charrúa Transmission. Through this subsidiary, we operate and maintain the Charrúa – Cautín transmission line in southern Chile, in the Bío-Bío and Araucanía regions. This is a 220kV double-circuit line measuring 204 kilometers long with a transmission capacity of 500 MVA per circuit. Under the control of Chile’s National Transmission System, backbone of the country’s electrical system, the line serves over 300,000 homes in the southern part of the country.
  • Centella Transmission. In July 2018, we were granted 100% of a concession to construct and operate a transmission line Nueva Pan de Azúcar – Punta Sierra – Centella, approximately 250 kilometers long (2 x 220 kV) north of Santiago, Chile, with a nominal capacity of 580 MVA per circuit. The project also includes the construction of the New Substation Centella in the region of Salamanca. Meanwhile, Ferrovial Construction is leading the construction project valued at $125 million. And through Ferrovial Power Infrastructure we will be responsible for the management of the permits involved in the project, the financing in the construction period, as well as the full management of the asset after it comes into operation.
  • Tap Mauro: On February 2020 Ferrovial Power Infrastructure was awarded the concession for the construction, operation and maintenance of a four-circuit transmission line. This new asset has 3 km per circuit, connecting Los Piuquenes-Tap Mauro transmission line and Ferrovial´s new under-construction power substation Centella, located at the Coquimbo Region, northern Santiago. Commercial operation date is scheduled for 2023.
